Anybody know who's playing in this event next year in the Alamodome? They usually have announced it by now.

Just my opinion, but thats a much weaker schedule than last year.

It used to mean more and was a big deal to play that week, but most teams do now.

They need to move it into a more Central location like Austin or Waco.

Why are there 5 SA area teams?

the REAL question is, WHY IS McAllen High playing in the Dome?????? those guys cant win in the RGV much less SA......O'Connor is gonna SMOKE EM'..... the Harlingen Cardinals however are the real deal, they can probably play with just about anyone (barring Lufkin and SLC of course)

I would not bother with this years Classic. The schools playing in it are not the high powered teams like years before. Fans want to see SLC, Katy, Judson, Midland Lee, Not O'Conner, Churchill and any teams from the valley. I not taking away that their fans will look forward to it, but not outsiders that want to see the elite teams from the state, look for atendance to be down.

The FACTS are the FACTS and that is a FACT.

they should pick 5 valley teams instead and youd see an attendence boost like a mofo....that and fajita tacos would sell like crazy... :D

Are they going to have the Tom Landry Classic again this year? And if so, what teams are going to play?

You can't have the SAME teams every year.....and I think Katy, Judson, and M. Lee have been in it a few times. I think its more than who is successful, but they are trying to showcase teams throughout the state.

But I do agree that they could have picked a better group.

actually RPM is from the RGV, he knows what he is talking about, i actually agree with him....RPMs team, the Donna Redskins played in the Classic the year before last and beat Lubbock Monterrey.....the RGV REPRESENTS.....us RGV people will be there in full force come the Classic, we got 2 teams Harlingen and Mac High, only Harlingen should win, McHi cant even win here.....BUT ILL SAY, THIS, I'M GONNA BE ALL OVER THEM FAJITA TACOS LIKE A MOFO, COME THE CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why dont you invite Dallas Carter, and South Garland up and play at Texas Stadium. The Fried Chicken and corn bread would sell like crazy  . You see how that sounds. Pretty silly.

PS No racism involved in that last post, i am black.

Man...I was thinking the exact same thing. I figured if I said it...it
would start a bunch of crap...but that is exactly the point I was
trying to make. Stereotyping and generalizing an entire region is stupid

Dude, I'm from the RGV. Our schools, on average, are about 90% Hispanic. And, at our games, fajita tacos are pretty dang popular. (I happen to think they are the best concession stand food in the state). Our fans also travel like crazy, at least as well as the up-state teams, probably better. RPM isn't a racist nor is he stereotyping-- just pointing out what our fans like.
