Just wondering, how do D1 scholarships work when a player graduates early from high school? The student is enrolling at a university for second semester before the national signing day in February. Do they enter school with a verbal commitment only or is there a provision that allows the university to give them a scholarship early since they're a high school graduate? Anyone know?

If a kid graduates high school and enrolls early in college, the school can start his scholarship effective in January of the recruiting year, and that athlete will be counted as part of the current recruiting class...for instance, if Joe athlethe enrolls at the university of football, he can start class and the offseason program and will be included in the UofFootballs february signing list.

I heard some where that you dont have to sign on national signing day and can sign before that.

well techincally you have to sign early if you want your scholarship to be in effect by time you start spring classes. As is the scholarship paper you sign every year before you start classes.Im assumming since they have graduated high school the signing date no longer applies to them.. as it wouldnt to anyone else with a high school degree.
