I would probably have to say the lufkin panthers also have a very hard hitting defense, dont disagree wit me
I'd have to say that the Longview Lobos aint half bad themselves . . . I tell you what, if anyone hits harder - on a consistent basis - than Cartez Bell, I'm scared. Official notice to all of Longview's opponents receiving core, "do everything you can to avoid this young man . . . I'm telling you, he is dangerous!!" As a matter of fact, around Longview this young man has been described as a "heat seeking missile." Some fans have laughingly suggested that he should be arrested.

There is no way you can come up with one team that is the hardest hitting, but I know that The Woodlands would be near the top thats for sure.

Without a doubt 100% the North Shore Mustangs is the hardest hitting program I have ever seen. I have seen North Shore play all of two games ever and I was amazed at both games.

May not stop everyone like they should, but SV can hit for a bunch of little guys, ask Mac's QB about that.

Wow..how can you say North Shore..i mean, they're alright hitters..more of a athletic program..all of them small, fast, agile...but I believe Dobie is harder hitters then Mustangs..
KT2000
10-18-2005, 07:04 AM
I've seen North Shore and Dobie multiple times each and the Mustangs hit harder than any program I've seen. Aymond coaches that physical approach. Every defense he has will bring it. They just blow stuff up.
This year, the two hardest hitting defenses I've seen in the Houston area are North Shore and Katy. I still need to see Westfield.
Fleeman93
10-18-2005, 07:32 AM
As a Katy follower I have seen them play SLC, SV, Dobie and Lufkin among others, and none of them bring it like North Shore does. As far as Katy goes, I like to think they play a smart disciplined defense that doesn't lay wood all the time, but when they do you will know it.

This is a useless thread, because everyone is saying it is the team they are for, SLC say they do, Lufkin says they do, Garland says they do, etc....

Exactly rich!! I have never seen a team come close to hitting as hard as the panthers lately. Not close!! I am going by the panther games and the ones i have seen on tv. Every game they decapitate a few people or almost literally knock somebody out or even had made several puke on the field. Ask spring westfield how hard Northshore hits. ;) Maybe they hit them after they were in the endzone?? LOL j/k Nah i would say NS and Lufkin are the hardest hitting along with Garland and i would put Longview up there also.

i don't know what team has the hardest hitting defense--i will agree with RichPack on that ONE thing--LOL...but, i know that the Lobo defense has rendered 4 people unconscious this year so far.....1 from ECA, 1 from West Monroe, 1 from Mesquite Horn, and 1 last friday from Rockwall........not a subject to be bragging about by no means, and i'm not---just stating that Longview will bring the wood...buckle the chinstraps reeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaly tight.........Cartez Beall has layed 2 of those licks i know for sure, if not 3 of them.............i also know that Lufkin, Katy, SLC, Trinity, NS, Garland--etc., etc., etc., bring it as well..........

These guys are decent hitters, but i wouldnt venture to say they are the hardest hitting defense. SGP defense is just quick to the ball, and the wrap up and take the player down.

You missed one . . . Mesquite's QB. I failed to make that game (out of fear of Hurricane Rita/traffic conditions and available gas supplies) but my son lives in Plano and he went to the game with several of his Dallas Carter friends. My son said (and I concur with you - this is not a subject to be bragging about) that Mesquite's QB was out for about ten minutes or more. Again, I know this is not something to gloat about; instead, I feel it's only right to caution all concerned mothers and other family members. And please don't mistake this for bragging . . . this is just stating the facts.

BHS---now, that was funny!!...LMAO............on another subject, i did see big Frank get pancaked in 2003 by an offensive lineman from Longview who weighed about 150 less than he did.....matter of fact, it happened about 3 times during that game.....in the 4th, when LH knew it was over, big boy got a little frustrated at gettting put on his rear that he started some crap and was tossed by the refs pretty quick.......love him in that Burnt Orange, though?????

I think that Garland might be up there. Because we have "THE BEAST", Brandon Antwine, we have "SMURF" John Murphy, we have Devonta Brown, we have a junior hard-hittin' corner Dwight hamilton... not to mention the rest of our defensive line. So I'd say we are pretty good.

congrats on ya'lls ability to injure kids. the one thing I remember from a Berkner game about 10 years ago was this Berkner kid jumping up and down and screaming after the other team had a player laying their in pain with a knee injury. the Berkner player running back to the sideline high fiving the coaches.
It must be tradition over there.

Did yall ever notice that the KT brother's seem like much bigger fans of NS then Katy?? Strange?? They hype NS 100 times more then a major 5a powerhouse in Katy, and that is where they all went to school?? Maybe they are so concerned about being called homers i have no clue?? ;) It sure does not bother me that i am a homer!! LMAO But then again i do not run a 5a texasfootball site.

We like good football and there's alot of it throughout the state...that's why we do this thing. We've always kept just one board to incorporate talk about the whole state and that is by design so that people can learn to appreciate that there are good teams outside of their own (shocking, I know :)). Katy is really good and I'm proud to have played there, but I like learning about and watching other good teams. Even throughout our playoff run, I was watching highlights of other teams thinking, "damn, they're good!" I really liked that Longview team we beat (that sounds kinda funny, huh?)...they were awesome. Anyway, if all we talked about was Katy, that would be defeating the whole purpose of the site...we could have just as easily started a Katy fan site, but that's not what we wanted.
Back to this topic though...
The Lufkin teams I've seen were very physical and very fast, but of all the teams I've seen in the past few years, nobody hits as hard as North Shore. I was floored by how hard they hit each other in practice...even during individual drills.

I don't have a favorite team and have seen 27 different 5A teams this year. Of the teams I have seen the top 3 hitters in order are---
1. North Shore
2. Longview
3. Lufkin
I saw North Shore play Dobie, Longview play West Monroe, LA, and Lufkin play Klein Forest.
By the way, my picks to win it all is Katy in D1 and Longview or Lufkin in D2.

Yeah, they would be in my top 5. But I'm guessing you haven't been to a Berkner game? You should go to one. I suggest the Berkner vs Creekview game, its goin to be a good one.

I bet you are going by 50 NS games that you have seen compared to 2 or 3 Lufkin games. Hard to get a accurate picture from that. Also, it varies each year with each defense on how hard a team hits. I have no doubt's that NS hit's very hard but i know the panthers do too because i watch every single game. The Lufkin team this year and the Lufkin team in 2003 are the hardest hitting i have seen personally out of Lufkin. This team might top the 2003 bunch in terms of hard hitters?? They bring some major pain!!

I'm not going to say my team.
Without seeing them in person, I back The Pack on this also. Lufkin was BY FAR the most physical team SLC played all year last season.
Why would it be any different this year? Talent level on D might actually be higher than last year. It's the O for Lufkin that has taken a slight step back.
