I'm just praying this isn't going to end like the UT game...

OK State 4 possessions, 4 TDS. The D is playing like I have never seen them play before. The game is on the No Fun League Network.

Go Pokes.

Where've you been?

Bobby Reid was benched after the 2nd game, and OSU's offense hasn't looked back since.

The announcers have talked about it, but some of the blocks that the OSU receivers are making are remarkable. Dez is having a good game!

It's the Big Televen. This game was over at kickoff. Indian is one of the more athletic Big Televen teams, but they don't have the athletes or team speed to keep up with Okie Lite.

Indiana just isnt one of the best Big 10 teams. I really thought they would play decent due to they were playing for a cause. Oklahoma State just has better athletes.

I think the only reason Indiana won as many games as they did is because the Big 10 can't handle mobile QBs / spread offenses.

Same reason I think Illinois will get spanked by USC.

Exactly. Same reason Illinois did as good as they did and same reason Penn State won the Big Televen in '05. The Big Televen, as a whole, cannot handle a lot of speed. That is why the smart coaches in the Big Televen, Zook and now Rich Rod, are bringing in offenses that put more speed on the field. They are going to drag the Big Televen into the modern era kicking and screaming or they are just going to run all over the conference.

No... not the same. In fact, Purdue's offense is a lot like Tech's in that it is designed to hide a lack of speed. Northwestern on the other hand hasn't even been to the Rose Bowl in well over a decade. Randy Walker was oh so close. He had a very fast team in 2000 and he won the Big Televen with that team. You still need to be able to recruit and Walker was able to do that. Fitzgerald has done well, but he aint Walker. Walker was maybe the single best coach in the nation when he died.

You know jtk your speed thing is such bs. Look at the Big10's record head to head vs the SEC and Big12 just in the last 8 to 10 years. You can stay in denial all you want. How many losses is that for Florida vs the Big10 just in the last decade? At least 3! You need to admit you are biased opinions do not make any sense at all. I finally heard them talk about it today on the game. Talking about how it is not a fair statement at all and especially when you look at them head to head vs the SEC. Just people like yourself believing in what you want and ignoring facts.

Oh and Indiana is basically like the Baylor of the Big12 or the Vandy of the SEC dork. They cannot even spell bowl! They were 3-5 in the Big10 this year they got there because of a weak out of conference. My lord PSU just beat aggy who beat the cowboys this year and ohio st just killed them a few years back. Wake up.

3-5 Big10 team that has been horrible since forever. Big deal. How did your cowboys do vs Ohio st a few years back? ;) Hey OSU has scary NFL athletes. I was definitely cheering for Dez he is a beast. So this win puts the Big XII at 4-2 with two games to go. Picking Oklahoma to pull out a win against WV and Kansas to get destroyed by Va. Tech. Possible 5-3 for the Big XII with three wins over top 25 teams looks pretty good. Big XII has been down the past couple of years but hopefully these bowl games are a sign of things to come.

Underachieved? They had the nation's toughest schedule. As you said, they need defense. The offense performed as expected. It was disappointing to lose to Texas, and a big disappointment to lose to A&M but they didn't underachieve.

They didn't play Tulsa. You are probably thinking of Troy. They got blown out in Zac Robinson's first start.

The offense has good talent. It takes talent on both sides of the ball to have a better record.

The preseason poll of the media who follow the Big Twelve ranked OSU as 4th in the South ahead of Tech and Baylor. They tied for third with A&M and Tech. A&M underachieved. Texas was picked first and underachieved. Oklahoma lost to Colorado and Tech which was underachieving even with losing their QB.

OSU coulda/woulda/shoulda beat Texas and A&M. Those were very disappointing games but I'm not sure they underachieved.

I've been an OSU fan for 34 seasons. Maybe I've learned to never set expectations too high and therefore can't recognize underachieving.:)

Can't disagree with you there. The future looks bright for us, but it also does for the rest of the Big 12 next year. Plus the conference schedule for OSU next year is brutal.

I am very excited for next season already, but then again, I was excited for this season after watching the spring game! The team looked good against IU and will hopefully carry some of the things they did into 2008. As a side note, what did you guys this of Gundy's play calling, I think he did a very good job, and called smart plays! ( obviously, the score was high!)

Finally, If Gundy doesn't have us to 8-4 or better within two years I think Boone will finally pull his head out of his piggy bank's *** and give the Athletic department the $ to buy out his contract.

I thought Gundy did an excellent job calling the plays (although Fedora did help gameplan). He seemed to be very much in control of it, but then again, everything was going smoothly. We've seen it time and again where head coaches can't handle the load during tumultuous games. Something to consider may be that the new hire Co-offensive Coordinator Trooper Taylor can cover for Gundy if he is needed elsewhere during the course of the game.

We should've been at least 8 - 4 this year. On paper you have to think surely we'll improve next year but the schedule is brutal; much tougher than this years'. I see us going 4 - 0 in the non-conference but we have to play @ Tech (never won there), @ Texas (never won there), @ Missouri (a very good team) and @ Colorado (a trap game). And of course OU at home.

I think you're right about Boone/Gundy. Gundy's best team will be in 2009; loaded with talent. If we don't win the south then, he'll be gone (Boone will make sure about that).

I was reading on a different board that Taylor may be reconsidering his move to OSU. I hope that is not the case, but it could be something we'll have to deal with. I wounder if Gundy would be interested in a college student. I have my moments where I pretty good at NCAA 2008 on Xbox 360... :D

I know that we should have been 8-4 going into this bowl game, but as all Poke fans know, we are famous for being Chocklahmoa State... I don't think we know how to play the game when we have a lead. There is no reason to call off the dogs like it seems like we do every time we have a large lead in a football game.

From The Tulsa World today:

TEMPE, Ariz. -- When the clock expired on Oklahoma State's 49-33 victory over Indiana on Monday in the Insight Bowl, the Cowboys completed the 13-game 2007 season with exact balance -- 3,161 rushing yards and 3,161 passing yards.

The per-game average of 486.3 yards is the second-best in school history, trailing only the 515.2-yard average of the 1988 Cowboys.

For two seasons, the Oklahoma State offense has produced at a high level. And for two seasons, because the defense hasn't kept pace, the Cowboys have settled for a final record of 7-6.

If the coaches can lift the defense to that same level, the Cowboy program would be completely redefined.
Now that's a balanced offense.

And FWIW, 1988 - Barry Sanders, Hart Lee Dykes, and Mike Gundy.
