View Full Version : Vince and Reggie
So far besides wins and signifigant wins they are almost even stat wise. Reggie ran it up against Texas St and SMU...Vince has faced the tougher teams so far, but still they are pretty even. These arent OFFICAL stats, but here they go:
Vince:
Passing 93-138-5 1,357 yds 12 TD
Rushing 75-413 yds 5 Td
Reggie:
Passing 76-142-4 1,317 yds 11 TD
Rushing 55-505 yds 2TD

NOO, not a reggie vs vince thread!! LOL VY definitely has the edge right now even though the stats are very even. Switch teams and i think you would see similar results. I have to admit i have changed my tune on Young after watching him some this year. He is the real deal!! He just has a strange release but the guy can throw the ball well. He looks so much better then last year throwing the ball it is not even funny. I can admit when i am wrong but i think Reggie is capable of just as much or more if he was on a great team like Texas is. Reggie has been more inconsistent then i have ever seen him this year. I did not recognize him in the Baylor game but those games happen.

I think Vince is trying to stay in the pocket and pass the ball more. I've seen some plays this year that in the same situation last year he would have took off and ran. Forget the throwing MOTION....he gets it done. I think they will have their hands full with Tech this weekend.

If you don't look at passer rating, wins, competition faced, leadership & intangibles, head-to-head records, amount of gametime played, or the fact that defenses have to change their scheme just to attempt to corral Vince, then just about anybody is pretty even with VY.

Hey Champ I see that you are in Midland. Is that back from Midland (Batch?) good as advertised?

Most definitely. He hits the hole faster than anyone I've seen besides Webster Patrick or Clifford Gilliam. The kid has serious jets. He'll be lethal in Tech's offense.

I like Rome, so I used to watch the show, but they kept switching the timeslot to where I had no clue when it was coming on. Won't they replay it at some point?

VY is way better in college, the man is unstopable.
However i think Reggie will be a better Pro QB. VY throws a little to sidearm and to much of his game is on the run. In the show, 75% of the deffece will be as fast or faster than him and his average QB skills just wont fly. Ill take VY now but in the pros Reggie

Rich Gannon and Bernie Kosar both had sidearm delivery. They both had success. VY has as much arm strength as either, and is a much better runner/athlete. He has the heart and leadership ability. He's also becoming much smarter. He's learning to read defenses and audible.
His rushing stats aren't great yet because he's practicing what he needs to in order to win big games down the road. He'll always be able to pull the ball down and make someone look stupid. It's his passing and progressions that he needs to work on. By the end of this year, he's going to look even better than he does now.

VY's release point is still higher than Reggie's. Reggie could be an excellent pro receiver. I think that Vince will be the better pro

I was watching ESPN2 the night Chris, I mean Jim, Everett pushed him on live TV. I think the show was called Talk 2 and that was the first year of ESPN2.

I used to say Reggie was better, but this year I have to give it to Vince. I wanna hear about Cody, though! :D

Hey Lonny, someone posted that link on the board not too long ago. Still funny. Just look for it, it's here somewhere.
