As bad as Fran was for aggy, he was a great coach for New Mexico and TCU. Maybe he can help change the fortunes for the Ponies. At this point they are up for trying anything. The death penalty was no joke. ;)

I told you guys Fran would land somewhere if he wanted to. That said, Fran will never return to his former glory until he finds another Gary Patterson to ride.

It's a great day to be a shetland pony that rides around in circles all day with kiddies on your back and crapping all over a parking lot..

This doesn't suprise me, I had a feeling he would have ended up there.

Are you a mystic?

No, but when he "resigned" and SMU opened I figured he'd have to coach at a smaller school and I think he likes Texas enough to stay around the area.

Wow. A reference to the DC WNBA franchise on the 5A Texas Football board. Is that a first?

Eventually, you figured SMU would have to look at Fran. He did have a winning record at a BCS team in this state. His teams did underperform, but he'd still be going in Texas homes and coaching in a lesser conference. He wouldn't be the worst C-USA coach in all likelihood.

There is nothing official about it here in the DFW media...

Nope, but it's about an hour away from Dallas, straight up I-30 on the other side of Sulphur Springs I think!
