Here's my list and some of the better teams that represent them, respectively....

1)
SEC: There's no conference identical to the depth and power of the SEC! Easily the best all-around conference!
#4 Alabama...Croyle is a monster. I love the fight in this, HUNGRY, team!
#5 Georgia....D.J. is unbelievablely awesome. And the Dawgs' "D" can hit!
#7 LSU....Is fighting like a lion. 1 loss to Tennessee...not bad, at all!
#16 Auburn....only loss was the very 1st game....since then they've punished teams...severely!
#17 Tennessee...a loss to Florida and Georgia. Double threat at QB!
#18 Florida.....when Leak's hittin' on all cylinders he's tough to stop!!

2)
Big Ten: Most years the Big Ten produce, at least, 2 top programs...this year there's at least 4 or 5 that can beat you on any day!
#12 Penn State....The FAB freshman! D. Williams is hurt, but there is plenty more super-kids, left!
#14 Ohio State....don't count them out! Glenn hasn't shown up....but Troy and Holmes has!
#19 Wisconsin.....gotta love "Jump Around!" in the student section! They find a way to win!
#22 Michigan State.....two words....Drew Stanton! They can play ball!!
Michigan....will win the next 3 games and upset the Buckeyes at the end of the season! Will finish in the Top 20.
Northwestern...decent...hasn't beaten any real teams, but has the upset value on the sideline!
Minnesota.....the "UPSET ARTISTS!" Will get one more upset before the season is over!
Iowa.....loses the easy ones and wins the tough ones! But they can still finish 9-2, but I doubt it!

3)
PAC-10: USC and UCLA are beasts in the Top 25. The other 3 aren't pushovers!
#1 USC....USC!....Nuff said!
#8 UCLA.....Drew Olson, Maurice Drew, Marcedes Lewis....awesome!! They can play!!
#15 Oregon....only loss is to USC!
#25 California.....a passing machine! Will still threaten USC and Oregon!
Arizona State.....Sam Keller may pass for 4000 yds and, perhaps, 40 tds this year!

4)
ACC: VT, FSU and the "U" are dominant programs that can't be overlooked nationally.
#3 Virginia Tech....Marcus Vick gives them the edge!
#4 Florida State....The "D" is dang good, dawg!
#7 Miami....the overall team speed and athleticism is awesome. And Hester is unbelievable!
#14 Boston College....gots a decent squad.
Virginia....upset FSU. I like their QB Hagans...he makes things happen!
Georgia Tech.....two words...Reggie Ball!

5)
Big XII: After Texas and Tech the teams are a toss-up. A&M, Colorado and OU can win big, over decent teams,...or lose, miserably, to poor teams.
#2 Texas....is one of only 2 teams that can beat USC. ND was the other one.
#10 Texas Tech...."High Octane Offense!"
Oklahoma....AD is the key, but he's banged up! Their "D" will have to carry them.
Nebraska....has the heart and toughness to win, big!
Iowa State...beat Iowa! Got some decent talent.
Texas A&M...two words....Reggie McNeal!
Colorado.....a tough team that will only get better!

Just like to get your opinion!

Wel the ACC is better than the Pac 10 and you forgot (shudder) Baylor on the Big 12 list. Other than that solid.

1. Big-10

2. SEC *slightly ahead of the Big-12/Pac-10.

3. Big-12 & Pac-10 *(toss up).

4. ACC.. * Texas Tech & Nebraska would beat Miami & Fla St.
Colorado would beat Boston College.

Most years I would say the SEC is #1. I dont think this season however. Seems like (Auburn, Alabama, Ga, LSU, Tenn & Fla) are all very good teams but not dominating teams. I do think (Texas, Tx Tech, Neb, Colo, Missouri) are every bit as good as those top SEC teams.

I will say that Ohio St, Michigan, Michigan St, Penn St, Wisconson, Minnesota and even little Northwestern are all pretty salty teams. So.. from top to bottom the Big-10 is my #1.

Big 10 cant be the best.
Michigan is not Michigan this year.
Good teams are getting beat by Northwestern
Iowa lost to Iowa st.
Ohio St. Lost to Texas
Purdue isn't Purdue
Michigan St. is a decent team but probably couldnt handle a top 10 team. Wouldnt be surprsied if they are the 2nd or 3rd best team in that conf.
Penn st. is the only other solid team. Go Joe Pa!
For the love of God yall have illinois and indiana, who have been taking only big 10 teams to the wire
Big 10 cant even count, they have 11 teams.

CLFalcon2006

The Pac-10 can't back up its big guns. USC, UCLA, and to a lesser extent Cal and AZ St. are the only teams in this TEN team conf.
Oregon, ORegon St. Washington, and Washington St. all have the ability and talent to be upset squads. The only problem is they never upset teams and then they get into conf. play where these equal teams just butcher each other. Every now and then one of USC or UCLAs little borthers gets a good punch in but more often than not USC and UCLA are the class of this conf. Same thing this year.
Don't forget about Stanford and Arizona, oh wait go ahead and forgot them the other pac 10 teams have.

CLFalcon2006

Big XII

Obviously the class of the Big 12 is Texas, who can win the natl. championship this year.
Behind Texas is Tech. As it turns out the biggest game this year in the Big 12 will not be Texas-OU, or OU-Nebraska, or Texas-Texas A&M. The big game will be Texas-Tech.
After that you get middle of road teams. A&M, Baylor, Colorado, Nebraska, OU, Iowa St.: These are the teams that can play with any team in the country that is ranked below #3. The only thing killing the Big 12 is the fact that OU can lose to TCU and come close to a lose to Tulsa. These are teams that lose to easy teams but play well against hard teams. I wanna see a Nebraska-Alabama game, or a Colorado-Penn St. Game. Oh yeah the only thing also contributing bad to the Big 12 is...
Kansas, K St., OSU, and Mizzou

CLFalcon2006
10-17-2005, 12:01 AM
That brings us to the SEC.
They dont have a #1 team who deserves a natl. title. But they do have the meat of your top 25.
Bama, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Goergia, and Tennessee can all hang with the big dogs and I think Georgia actually might be better than Va Tech. They just cant hang with the biggest dogs (USC and Texas).
The supporting cast aint bad either
Miss St.- can upset teams
S. Carolina- as long as spurrier is there they are dangerous, they just need to learn to win.
Vanderbilt- every conf. has a floor on which the other teams stand.
Arkansas- upset material
Ole Miss- Proved they can hang with the big dogs, they just arn't one themselves
Kentucky- Once again upset Material.

This is hands down the best conf., usually is

ACC

This is the pretender conf.
These are good teams but all the other ones are riding the coattails of Va. Tech (which is the best of the rest, not natl champ material)
There best teams are Florida St. (Beaten by Virginia), miami (beaten by FSU).
Clemson, Virginia, Gerogia Tech, Boston College round out the rest, oh wait i forgot...
Wake Forest, Maryland, North Carolina, NC St., and Duke.
Stellar conference. ACC will go into the dumps once Va Tech gets upset by one of its little bro's.

1-Big 10

Smart guy lets see. Big 12 TEXAS........then we have.........Texas Tech.......then we have...................good question who do you have Colorado no don't think so....Texas A&M.......don't think so....Baylor,OU,Iowa ST,KANSAS,KANSAS ST,Oklahoma ST,MISSOURI yea give me a break. NEBRASKA must be third best team in BIG 12  ACC is 2-1 against BIG XII so now who is pretending??? BIG 12 should be called THE BIG 1 + 11 other SCRUBS :p

The Big Ten, while solid, would not win head to head match-ups with the SEC...

Penn State vs Georgia
Ohio State vs Alabama
Wisconsin vs LSU
Michian State vs Tennessee
Michigan vs Florida
Minnesota vs Auburn

The Pac-10 has USC, UCLA, California, Oregon and Arizona State...these teams could beat any team in the Big XII and ACC, except for Texas and VT.

Times have changed..just 5 to 8 years ago...the Big XII had the powerhouses like Nebraska, UT, Texas A&M, OU, Colorado, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Missouri....for what ever reason they've just fallen off. I think it has to do with recruiting and coaching!

Did u just say the big 12 is as easy as the big east?

Syracuse (3rd best???) lost to Rutgers (looking like the big easts best team  .
You have Louisville who is your best team (lost to South Florida(terrible))
You also have Pitt who just looks terrible
Dont forget West virgnia even though its easy to forget.
I cant even name another team in the big east after those teams.
How this conf. has a BCS bid is beyond thinkable, the mountain west might be ahead of them

by the way those other 3 teams ended up being UConn, South Florida, and Cinicantti; had to look em up to find out

Becareful what you say!! The Big 10 has been beating the SEC in bowls plenty lately. Look it up!! Just my Iowa Hawks alone have beaten and SEC teams two years in a row in a big bowl in Florida and LSU. The Big 10 is deep this year and it is just a wacky year so far. Ohio st was a dropped pass away from beating UT Michigan st beats ND who should have beat USC Michigan beats Michigan st Minnesota beats Michigan Wisconsin beats Minnesota Penn st beats Ohio st. and on and on. My Iowa Hawks are weird. If they can go 9-2 and win a major bowl after starting 2-2 for the 2nd year in a row i will never doubt the coaching staff again. I doubt it though. They lost to their abused step child Iowa st. They still have one of the longest home winning streaks at 22 and i do think they will beat Michigan at home this saturday. Crazy conference this year no doubt!!

Hahaha,, that Florida St drumming has really got you going. I tried to tell you they were "OVER-RATED" and you just wouldnt listen.

PS. Nebraska would make Florida St look like a sick wounded dog. Florida "overrated" State cant even throw the football 20 yds down the field. They look stupid. Strictly living off pas reputation which wont be much longer after their EXPOSED again. Which is going to happen at least once and probably twice before the seasons out.

Ditto with Miami. They'll get beat probabably 2 more times before the seasons out.

Sorry Junk in your Trunk. ACC is "OVER-RATED." hahahaha..

About 3 more weeks and many of the ACC pretenders will be gone out of the mix with their OVERRATED selves. Watch !!! :D

MAN i can not believe you are still basing this argument on a win over WAKE FOREST!!! I guess we will be going back and forth until December but beating WAKE FOREST proves nothing. Ill take the ACC win over your Best team in the North. Tom Osbourne has been retired for 7 years but you will have to call him back to NEBRASKA in order for them to beat a team from Florida . ACC suck you say?? ACC gets much respect that is why FSU can lose to another ACC team and remain in the top 10!! ACC strength baby!!! :D

STILL 3 in top 10 and 4 in top 15 and yea that's right 5 in top 25. OH did I forget 4 in the top 20 BCS ranking as well :D

Updating the Top 5 Conferences....

* Team rankings according to BCS.

1) SEC: There's no conference identical to the depth and power of the SEC!
#4 Georgia....has struggled recently, but continue to hold an athletic edge!
#5 Alabama...Croyle is a monster. But this team is struggling...Whoa!
#8 LSU....Is fighting like a lion. They beat Auburn, of whom I thought was better.
#19 Florida.....when Leak's hittin' on all cylinders he's tough to stop!! But he hasn't been hitting on all cylinders, lately.
#22 Auburn....Two losses are recorded in the books, but the Tigers are still very dangerous. And, is it just me or will they be a serious contender in the next few years?!
Tennessee...the biggest victory of the year will come when Fulmer decides on a starting QB! Oops, did I say that out loud?!
South Carolina....Spurrier will get them going...he has no choice, his "ICONIC STATURE" is on the line!!

2) Big Ten: This is the craziest conference, yet! Of the 5 Conferences listed we have a pretty good idea who'll win conference....yet we have no clue, here! That being said the Big Ten still has some of the more solid programs in the country!
#9 Penn State....The FAB freshman! D. Williams is hurt, but there is plenty more super-kids, left!
#12 Wisconsin.....gotta love "Jump Around!" in the student section! They find a way to win!
#13 Ohio State....don't count them out! Glenn hasn't shown up....but Troy and Holmes has!
#20 Minnesota.....the "UPSET ARTISTS!" will get one more upset before the season is over!
#21 Northwestern...OMG..where in the hell did this team come from?! They're beasts! Lookout...in a year or so, we'll be calling Northwestern a Top 10 powerhouse! Ya, ya...their QB Basanez is a senior, but their RB Sutton, who's a TRUE freshman has run for nearly 1000 yds and 14 tds. Whoa!!
#25 Michigan....they still have an upset left and the Buckeyes may just fit the bill!
Michigan State.....two words....Drew Stanton! They can play ball!
Iowa.....wow, this team has dissapeared. But I like what I saw against Michigan! Drew's got a few upsets up his sleeve though! Did you guys see how he gunned the football against Michigan?!! Wow...it looked scary!!
Indiana...they have a football program?!! I guess so, seeing how it is they put the scare of death in some of these Big Ten teams!

3) ACC: VT, FSU and the "U" are dominant programs that can't be overlooked nationally.
#3 Virginia Tech....Marcus Vick gives them the edge! Some are calling them the best team in the nation....I think they're untested!! We'll see in the next two weeks, against Boston College and the "U"! ;)
#7 Miami....the overall team speed and athleticism is awesome. And Hester is unbelievable! I'm saying it now....MIAMI will BEAT VIRGINIA TECH!!!!!!!!!!!!
#10 Florida State....The team is getting better, despite the upset to Virginia! Lookout next year....they're loaded!
#14 Boston College....gots a decent squad. Can get an upset, or two!
Virginia....upset FSU. I like their QB Hagans...he makes things happen!
Georgia Tech.....STILL two words...Reggie Ball!

4) PAC-10: USC and UCLA are beasts in the Top 10. But the rest of the teams are weaker than I once figured!
#2 USC....wow, they certainly look beatable...but who's got the juice to make it happen?!! Not very many, at all!!
#6 UCLA.....Drew Olson, Maurice Drew, Marcedes Lewis....awesome!! Heisman candidates, IMO!
#11 Oregon....only loss is to USC! Solid, but not great!
#23 California.....a passing machine! Will still threaten USC and Oregon!
Arizona State.....Sam Keller may pass for 4000 yds and, perhaps, 40 tds this year!
(Note: I would put Stanford on this list, due to their 3-1/4-2 record, but how in the world do you lose to "Cal-Davis"?!!)

5)
Big XII: Texas is #1, now! Ohhhh...don't hate USC, you'll get your chance! The Big XII is getting stronger as the year goes on! Texas Tech, A&M, Colorado, OU, Baylor, Missouri, Kansas and Iowa State are only gonna get better! This conference will be tough next year....mark my words!!
#1 Texas....will beat USC for the National Championship, in January!!!
#16 Texas Tech...."High Octane Offense!"....can compete with some big boys!
#24 Colorado.....a tough team that will only get better!
Texas A&M...two words....Reggie McNeal! Once he's gone, though...two more words...Jorvorskie Lane!! And a young "D", that can only get better, cus' uhhh, they can't get any worse!!
Oklahoma....Could finish the year 7-4, and get to a Bowl...which is not bad, considering AD is hurt and Bomar is slowly coming together. Two stiff tests, in Tech and A&M are down the road...not to mention this Saturday in Lincoln! Lookout in the years to come...lots of depth, here!!
Nebraska....has the heart and toughness to win, big!
Baylor...Ya, you're reading it right...BAYLOR! They're slowly putting together a decent program....be on the lookout in the next few years! They beat Iowa State!
Missouri...Brad Smith is incredible, and they look to finish 8-3 on the season, not bad! But what I love is the play of true freshman Chase Daniel...lookout in the years to come.
Iowa State...beat Iowa! Got some decent talent.
Kansas...still has one of the tougher defenses in the Big XII! And that means a whole lot, if you're a Jayhawk!

You guys are elevating the Big 12 just because it's Texas' conference. Other than Texas, the Big 12 is a big joke. Here's my list

SEC-So loaded it's unbelievable. This conference makes people shudder.
ACC-Again, loaded. Virginia Tech is not overrated. Their defense=AMAZING! Add FSU, Miami, Virginia, BC, and North Carolina(Where did they come from this year?!?!) and it's a pretty good conference.
Big 10- These teams are good, but not great. All around, a pretty solid conference, but everyone keeps knocking each other off, which makes it seem pretty weak. Just because there is more parity among teams doesn't mean it's better.
Pac 10-I rate this ahead of the Big 12 because they have USC and UCLA, 2 unbeatens, not to mention Oregon, Cal, and what at first looked like a good Arizona State team. Stanford did lose to Davis, which is absolutely inexcusable, but they have recovered well.
Big 12-This year, it makes me laugh. When Baylor can take Texas A&M and Oklahoma to OT, beat Iowa State and almost beat Nebraska, you know the league must be in a down year. How can you call this better than the ACC when Nebraska and Oklahoma might not even make a bowl!?!? Texas is the only team that's really for real. Texas Tech might scorch you, but they are relatively weak. They really should have had their first loss against Nebraska. How can you say the 3rd best team in the league is Nebraska? It's obviously Colorado, Missouri a close 4th. Without Texas, this league would be GARBAGE. One team doesn't make the league much better(see Pac-10)

No Big East? And about the BigXII... its about time Baylor actually has a decent team... just because Baylor has been bad in the past, doesnt mean they always have to be like that... maybe once in a while (this year) they can actually have a good team and compete...

If you are a UT fan you are the most honest one I have seen so far. Good post!! Perhaps if they see this opinion from someone other than me they will see what the rest of the country already knows. Again not "hating" just voicing a counter opinion. :D Except for the SEC part that is, their Offenses are in the tank this year!!

1) Did you even read my post ^? I put the Big 12 @ #5.

2) Uhh...have you seen Baylor's defense?? Well alot of sports analysts have as they've said, "Trust in the fact that this is not the Baylor of old!" They're on the rise!...Why you refuse to still acknowledge them is beyond me! No they're not a Top 25 school, but they could scare the crap out of plenty of the top 25 programs!

3) Texas Tech can still score points, and Colorado as well. The Big 12 will very strong in years to come.....That was my argument, as stated above!

4) The Pac 10 better get their wins in now...they have very little depth, OVERALL! In years to come they will not be ranked as high!

5) Virginia Tech, FSU and Miami are solid programs that could threaten top 10 schools. However, the rest of their league is decent..teams like Virginia, BC and UNC has upset potential, but that's about it and those three will likely fall off in years to come.

6) Big 10 is always solid...they have plenty of youth, as well. I see them competing for National titles, in the years to come. Miami, VT and FSU, from the ACC, may be in the hunt as well!

7) The SEC is......"THE SEC!"....nuff said!
