private schools should not play in the UIL. 1. recruiting is rediculous 2. they wouldnt stand a chance against 5A programs. at tops, if private schools were allowed to play public then the max should be 3A. there may be one or two exceptions, such as SPX, that could compete in 4A or be a bottom feeder in 5A, but none that would really stand out. overall size, speed, and coaching are on a whole different level. adding districts and realignment would be a mess as well.

I don't know if I would say they can't play with 5a teams. Strake Jesuit in Houston is pretty good. They would beat most teams in 26-5a but I know that no one from San Antonio would believe that.

As far as if they should be play in UIL, who am I to say.
