View Full Version : Are this year's Katy Fans the dumbest ever?

Since the vast majority of the Katy fans on this site seem to have declared the next game of not being worthy of their notice, and seem to be of the opinion that now is the time to start the post season discussions. I thought that I would start one myself.
Question: are this years fans even dumber than the fans before the Cy Falls game last year?
I say the answer is yes - since evidently nobody learned anything from the lesson that God gave us last year. You remember that lesson don't you? The one where everyone was disrespecting an opponent before the game was played and a great Katy team on a roll got their hats handed to them?
There are a lot of you who have the opinion that what you write on boards like these makes no difference on the field. Really? God reads them, do you think He has no effect on what happens? I will tell you that humility plays a lot better in his eyes than being boastful does.
So I'll repeat the question:
Are this years fans even dumber than the fans before the Cy Falls game last year?

Katy fans are no different to any other fans and all Katy fans have the right to be confident going into next week's game. Quite simply, Katy is by far and away the best high school football team in Texas today. During this season no team has really come close to beating Katy and the blow-out of SA Madison is truly awesome. Being confident in one's team is not dumb and the only thing which can stop Katy wining is, heaven forbid, a season ending injury. I was always told "it aint braggin' if its true."

TigerHat, this is the second thread that you have started insulting the Katy fans or the team that you claim to be a fan of. NO we are not dumb, and to repeat what you were told last week this team will not look any further then P-ville.
Forget it. You are one of those that seems to think fear is the biggest motivator and in your world maybe it is...but in the real world, many times it gets you killed. You freeze, you panic and you make stupid mistakes, something this team is not about to do. And yes, Katy does have dumb fans as long as people like you keep posting their post tramtic stress rantings.
So crawl back in to your hole and let this team take care of buisness.

Only God can answer that.
I love how immature this forum is.

If you really want an answer to this question create a poll and ask the posters to vote on it. Your poll question could be - In which year were the Katy fans the dumbest? You are allowed up to 10 options, so you could post a poll from 1998 to 2007.
I don't believe my dumbness has changed much over the past 10 years, so I couldn't give you an honest opinion.

Katy fans have a right to be confident. They've acted the same way for the previous 15 games and i don't blame them. They've blown out every single team that they've lined up against. Thats not easy to do in Texas Football

I undestand the difference. Same attitude presented last year before the Falls game. "No one can beat this team". Careful, someone can. Stay focused, Katy,

Yeah. Trying playing some opposition during the season like Pville has and you too will feel confident. We'll settle this on the field Saturday. May the best team take the trophy! GO PANTHERS!!!!!

I have seen both teams play and have not rooting interest, but I assure you that Katy has nothing to worry about. They will win easily.

I wouldn't worry too much about what God thinks about high school football or these threads...if that were the case He would have answered my prayer yesterday for NS to win another state title before I lose my dad. I don't think God is too concerned with HS football other than answering our prayers that our kids get to and from the game safely and their safety in the game!
I think you will be okay Katy fans!

I was one who didn't feel that way last year. Yes they were awesome and undefeated in district, and they were KATY ;), but they were a young team, playing against a Senior heavy, fully loaded, well coached team of Eagles coming back from losing only by a hair the year before. I have a feeling I wasn't the only one. I don't think the team will lose sight of their four-year goal at this stage of the game, but I'm glad you're thinking about us booster. It's good to know you are rooting for us. That speaks to a lot of obstacles overcome on both sides. :)

Well, I think I'll maintain my respect for Pflugerville, anyway. They have a long and storied history, and some things in their story reminded me a little of Katy in the early days. Thanks though. :)

Thats a big negatory. Every team has some bad apples but for the most part Katy program, fans and all have my respect. They have always had my respect because of their winning tradition. Go Katy beat Pville.

Well, this Katy fan respects PVille. I've never seen them play and they are in the same State Final for a reason.
1997 - Katy was 17 point underdogs to Longview.
2003- Katy was underdog to SLC.
2004 - Clear Lake was underdog to Katy.
Sometimes the heavy favorite loses the big game which is why they play the game. Pflugerville is going to attempt their best to topple Katy and nothing will be taken lightly about this PVille team.
B-T-W, I don't think God cares who wins or loses a football game.
Katy's fans are from dumb to very savvy like most programs fans.

Thanks KF52. When your 7th grade B team shows up though it doesn't get you a win! We've had fun this year though and I've had a blast with all of you. Be safe, warm, and Godspeed to ya'll this weekend!

I wouldn't say that Katy blew us out, but they definitely won. In fact, looking at the other scores, I would say we gave Katy their best game yet. However, there is no dispute that this Katy team is excellent and P-Ville had better bring their A game or it will be another long afternoon.
Congrats Tigers! Win state and bring that trophy home to Region 3!!

I assume I was one of the "dumb" fans that predicted a big win for Katy against Falls last year. If right now it were the day before the Falls game last year I would still pick Katy to win big in that one. By looking at numbers and common opponents it was obvious to me that Katy was the better team and would win. I never could have guessed that Falls would finally play up to their full potential that day and beat Katy. Katy got beat by a better football team that day and I have and had no problem with that.
Two things really annoy me on football message boards. One is rah rah cheerleader fans that think their team is going to win just because it is their team. What is the point of writing anything about the game if that is all you have to offer. My team is going to win because we play with more heart just doesn't fly in HS football. Two are fans that throw out the "we need to respect them", "we better not overlook them", and "you are going to give them bulletin board material." We are fans on a stupid message board. Do you really think our respect or lack thereof means anything to how the kids are going to play? Do you really think a good team at this stage is going to overlook their opponent? If a team needs to put up bulletin board material from a fan on a message board then that team has some motivation problems. We really really need to remember that WE (fans on a message board) don't mean a damn thing in the grand scheme of things. If you really think Katy is going to win the title over Pflugerville by 30 and you post some respectful 10 point win then you are a coward. I respect Pflugerville as a team and as a program. I told fans in the stands this week that Pflugerville worried me the most out of Madison, Abilene and Pflugerville. With that said I think Katy is a better team than any team in the state and will win the game. Katy will come out prepared, well coached and determined to meet their ultimate goal and I don't think Pflugerville will be able to do anything to stop them. Does me saying this make me disrespectful? I guess so.
Finally, I wonder what must have been said by fans for God to allow a player to be paralyzed or killed during a game? How bad would the things that were said have to have been for God to allow a plane to crash killing the entire team? Sorry to get deep but I don't think this is the place to use God as leverage.

A couple of very good Katy posters have been virtually MIA from the Katy game threads the last few weeks. This isn't said with tongue in cheek, but I imagine it gets tough for some. They celebrate their teams' accomplishments and they get labelled cocky and classless. They get asked what they think the score of the next game will be. They predict a one sided win and they get accused of disrespecting the opponents. When all they were trying to be was truthful. I'm sure most of us would want to swap places with them and have our teams be under the kind of scrutiny Katy are in right now. Just the same though, it must get tough for some dealing with some of the stuff thrown at them. Guess it's tough at the top. :)
Not implying that they are not tough enough to deal with the garbage. On the contrary, they show exceptional restraint by just letting their boys take care of things on the field, rather than take part in the garbage.

Seriously, Obviously no one left in the playoffs has overlooked anyone in the last 5 weeks because there here aren't they? I think playing around with all the stats and predictions is fun. I also would like to add that i found it hillarious to count how many times people called katy cocky or overconfident before games. Before last weeks game alone in 3 threads I counted over 20 times someone called katy fans cocky or arrogant for picking a blowout, but every week those same katy fans are the ones smiling while others are biting there tounge and becoming believers. Should be great game! I guess the entire play book will be finally opened for this game, right fleeman? Since I didnt see all of it against madison.
