 Ok, does it not seem like Smithson Valley is just getting by? I will give it to the teams in 26-5A that they are better this year but with the talent that SV has they should be tearing people apart. For example, the two recievers from SV(Fuller and Beyer) are supposedly the best recieving tandem in region 4 but where are they at. I have not heard anything about them this year. I thought the reason of having Hill at QB was to get the ball to the skilled players but all I see is conservative play calling and SV just getting by. Last night at the game the Reagn defense was putting 9 in the box because they know that SV is not going to throw the ball. The past two weeks this has been happening and why aren't these mismatches being played? I think last night the QB was the leading ball carrier and this guy is not the most athletic looking QB. A perfect example is Reagan they have an athlete at QB and look at the turmoil that he caused. Reagan's offense tore up SV. Not saying that Hill Should be moved from QB but atleast get the ball to your skilled palyers and maybe SV will not be just getting by. Seniors need to do something!

Not sure what Reagan was doing at the line of scrimmage but I know at the MacArthur/SV game, Mac was not putting 9 in the box. They stayed with their standard 4/4/2/1. I don't think of Reagan as a passing team. They seem to want to run the ball but will throw to keep a team off balance. They pretty much look the same as last year. They are a ball controlling type of offense that wants to control the clock and shorten the games. Against some of the high powered offenses that they might see in the playoffs, it might not be a bad idea. Worked pretty well for them last year.
On defense they are "bending" a lot but making big plays in the red zone. Again that works for what they seem to be trying to do. Shorten the game and capitalize on the other teams mistakes. Looks like it's working to me.

I totally agree with SV not tearing teams apart like we should. The only time I feel they played to their full potential was the Judson game, but now we're finding out Judson wasn't as good as we thought they were. Nonetheless, SV has been able to win ball games.

So then tell me what yall think of the teams that lose to us. Nobody thought that we were that good last year and we went to state and lost by a game winning field goal by the # 1 team in the nation. It doesnt matter if you win by a point or a hundred points a win is a win. sv and madison seem to be the only teams winning anyways.

As long as SV is winning it's games does it really matter how badly they are whuppin on their oppnents? I bet SV is a different team in the playoffs than the regular season. You gotta have faith. GO 'STROS!!!!!!

Against Mac Fuller had 5 catches for like 85 yards, and 2 td`s.The defense also has some key injuries.Every game except, the Judson, and Churchill games,we`ve had big leads.Teams are scoring in the last 7-8 minutes of games. We`ve been up by 2-3 td`s,going into the fourth. These teams are talanted that were playing. We`ll will be war tested come play off time. What part of 6-1 record do you not like.
Coach Hill said right after last nights game,on the radio, that he thought Brian (Hill)had his best game.I`ll take his opinion every time.Beyer has had some drops this year that he did`nt have last year.If we can get by Lee this week, then we should be playing Madison for the district title in 2 weeks.Come on Judson Beat them Mavericks this week.Judsons playoffs start against Madison.

The past two years I have really became a SV fan. I have been to every SV football game this year and Beyer has caught every ball that has been catchable except for one ball against MAC. This kid can play given the opportunity. The problem is that the QB is not able to get him the ball. There has been 3 or 4 balls, in crucial situations, that the ball is throwed in the dirt and skipped up to him on hitch plays and then there has been balls that have been totally over thrown. I have seen him play the past two years and if that QB can get him the ball like last years QB, he can be the difference maker because just about every time he has the secondary beat by two or three steps. Go Rangers!!!

The onle thing I did like from the stats against Reagan for SV:

Fumbles 0
Interceptions 0
Penalties 0

Although I thought SV got a penalty at the first of the game? ;)

SV is doing fine, he district is just getting better and that is a good thing. Sv will make it to the semi's in divison 2, because they are just to good to lose to anyone else in region 4.

So I guess your saying Clemens has no chance to beat SV then, right?

Buff from what I knowe Clemens will be going large and SV small so I do not have anyway of picking that Game. If that is true then the only possible teams that could challenge them could be SM and that a could.

Go look at the new post, "Dont pass on SV yet". I figured it would be good to post a new thread on it.
