Well, it's a new week. Just figured I'd go ahead and let everyone know the the Owls didn't have any personal fouls last week vs North Garland. I guess all of you who have labled them as being a bunch of "Thugs" can remit your appologies here. Glad to see the Owls take care of a pretty good NG team. That makes 14 straight wins vs North. I really hope the Owls will not take Sachse lightly this coming week. Sachse will be coming off a poor effort against Lakeview in which they were beaten 35-10. The Mustangs will be focused and ready for the Owls. I hope they don't look past Sachse to the Rowlett game. Gotta get to the point that they are ready to play week in and week out.

The Owls didn't get where they are by playing dirty. And, not trying to stir the pot - but didn't Longview get their share of personal fousl Fri. night - and the announcer said something to the effect of the Lobos storming the field in the 4th qtr. for a midfield throwdown?

The Lobo agitators sprouted two extra sets of hands so they could cover their eyes, ears, and mouths when those things happen. Those guys are like Saddams' news agency, they only report the infidels being repelled, but ignore the crimes against humanity he did. It's just a little metaphor, but I think it rings true for a few of these guys. You Lobo fans who act right, like most on the board, know who you are and this ain't for you.

BTW agitators, Jerry's had you guys picked by 34 points. How does it feel now to have folk throwing your words back at you about not being good, or being "thugs", or under-achieveing? I hope you learned something, but I doubt it.

A certain poster who supports the Lobos has been fairly active about hijacking threads and slamming our boys. We don't go there and jack with him, but he seems to feel that it's perfectly OK to slam something he hasn't seen or knows anything about. I as a self proclaimed defender of the honor of GHS, I will fight back when others "walk on Ollie the Owl".

Besides, he's fun to jack with, kind of like Rough, but he's not joking, he just has no clue. :D

Surely you didn't think that I truely thought anyone would actually come on and appologize. That wouldn't fit the character of those who do all the bashing. And your right, just because no personal fouls were called doesn't mean none happened; so what we need to do is the UIL needs to go ahead and penalize each team with 2 personal fouls at the beginning of each half after the kickoff. That way the message is sent early, "your doing something wrong we just don't alway see/call it".
And to re-itterate what someone else said, the Owls didn't get where they are as a program by not playing physical, intimidating football. That's one thing I've always appreciated about the coaches and players at GHS, they preach Physical play and the kids play physical. Everyone notices it more often when the Owls defense is on the field because your watching Brandon Antwine, Marquise Frazier, Terrence Henderson, John Murphy... all big physical players. But if you truely watched the Offensive line, you'd notice smaller kids such as Tyler Greider (5' 8, 180 lbs), Jose Grimaldi (5' 8, 185 lbs), and Carlos Perez (5'7, 215 lbs) all playing very physically going up against typically bigger, stronger, faster defensive players and beating them.

That's one thing I enjoy about Longview also, they are physical. I watched as they "out-physicalled" a very good/physical Owls team in 2002.

It's a physical game, if you can't accept it, they go watch ballet on Friday nights.
