Katy Tigers
Right now, these guys are just having fun...they are ridiculously good.

Record: 6-0
Last Game: 37 -3 win over Katy Taylor

oh, and by the way, for all you pass happy southlakers...
QB Andy Dalton- passed for 286 yards and 4 touchdowns in today's game...right now, he is on pace to have 2,307 yards and 42 TDs (not bad for a school who powers you with the run)
WR Michael Fuda- on the season, 18 catches for 578 yards and 10 touchdowns, can someone say All-State?

for the season, Dean and King split time, so their combined totals are somewhere around the 950 yard mark or so

in today's game
KING- 14 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown
DEAN- 8 carries for 42 yards

Fuda is amazing!! 10 touchdowns already and hes only a Jr.........This was a hard fought first half game though.

Taylor came out in the first half ready to play and only alowed 1 touchdown at the half making it 6-3, but Katy came out second half and owned them

Katy Vs Taylor game is never a real blow out though since the two teams are rivals......every1 comes out ready to play

Don't want to rain on the Katy parade ........ but, After seeing them play in person today, I'd have to say it was'nt very impressive. Not doggin your team, but they did'nt look look like a top ten team (regardless of the score). I'm going to assume that they have looked much better in their previous games. At half time it looked like they had their hands full (6-3).

Fuda's got good hands but Taylor coverage on him was pretty lame.

But hey .......... a wins a win! We rooted for you all the way .......... but need to improve over todays performance to go deep at the big dance.

Go big red (K - train)?

Ah, spoken like a true Lufkinian...

But really... I'm going to echo what he said... it's not like he put up those numbers against a houston area top 10 defense...

Congrats on the win today and good luck the rest of the way!! Maybe we'll cross paths with you down the road..... :)

I don't know how bad Katy could have been winning 37-3, but PACKMAN you just have to look at your first half against Klein to get a taste of bad football.

Notice to LP fans: Better worry about your own run in the playoffs and let Katy worry about Katy.

Since you don't know ......... you obviously were'nt there. And by the way .... we look bad in the first half of most of our games (keeps the fans around longer).

And I'm sorry that I did'nt get your permission for who we could worry about ..... won't happen again!

Notice to eagleike!! Do not go by one fan's comment and assume it is all of Lufkin fan's because that is what i call ********. duuuurrrrh!! I could care less what Katy does and i am well aware Lufkin has their own flaws like all teams maybe this guy does not?? How about you concentrate on poor ike and leave both Katy and Lufkin out of it?? ;)

Packman, if this was the only Katy game you've seen so far I completely understand your viewpoint.

The first half was a wake up call. Not sure what happened there, but they responded with 31 unanswered second half points. The second half was much more indicative of the way Katy has played this year.

I think it says something about a team when they can play about as bad as they can (on offense) for a half and still win by 34 points. In my opinion, this is the strongest Katy team I've seen since the 2000 season at this point in the year.

I think they hit the "snooze" button before the first half. They definately woke up in the second. Penalties and turnovers will be discussed in practice this week. Liked the second half effort (similar to past teams & Woodlands game). The first half tested their spirit and they responded. :)

Hey, Packman!! Wish we knew you were there. You would have been welcome at our tailgate and have some dogs and burgers. You would have been able to meet some of the Katy posters on this site.

About the game, we in Katyland were also dissapointed in the first half. We were all talkin' how Taylor came prepared and Katy looked a bit lethargic. The coaches couldn't get it together also for some reason. If you noticed they had a hard time getting in plays with the right personnel. This was NOT the game to show off to other high school football fans ,especially Panther fans who are used to good football. SORRY. It is relevent to note that only a good team can cough up 3 turnovers in one half and still have the lead.
How 'bout the first play from scrimmage and did you stick around long enough to see Fuda's touchdown catch in double coverage? Have to admit that this game wasn't typical of how they have played so far this season. I'm just glad we got the win.

Drgnbkr, you and SLCDad are too nice to us. It's hard to smack with you two. You two guys must be middle aged like me and have somewhat mellowed out.
Are you guys gonna be Div I for sure? I don't think we will be absolutely certain if we are Div I until the last game of the season is played out. 19-5A is really down this year with only Katy and Strake with undefeated records. The other teams in our district are all 1-2. What a log jam for 3rd place. Some of those schools have higher enrollments than Katy and whoever takes the third spot will determine if we are Div I or Div 2.

I saw your purple caps sitting in the stands. You were sitting in the reserved section so you must have been the guests of some Katy fans. I saw very little in the way of rooting. Come back anytime,
BUT...

I believe we know how to get to the big dance. Been there many more times than Lufkin has. Our coaches don't expect this team to be at a level to win a state championship yesterday or today. But if they do their jobs the way they know how to and the way they have in the past, then this team will be ready by mid-December. We are only in the 2nd of a 3 season schedule and this team should peak about the semi-final game just the way they did against Shertz-Clemens in "03. I would love to see your Panthers standing in our way when we get to the dance. But until then, it's one game at a time.

Good luck

This was a typical post from some bandwagon Lufkin fan. Most Panther fans are focused on their own team.

This guy needs to realize that Lufkin has a fine team but really has not done much to stand up and say a Katy is not a top 10 team.

having listened to the first half debacle vs klein, i'd pre-read your comments while looking in a mirror. i love it when a know-it-all states an exact replica of what an unknowledgeable outsider watching only the first half of his team's game would have said just 4 days earlier. hilarious.

Good points - I think this is the time of year when fans need to re-focus on them - not others. No cakewalks here gang - and the season t'aint near over - not by a long shot. Lufkin has hands very full tonight with Klein Forest. But, again, this is an opinion forum - if none were given - none of us would be addicted to the place now would we? ;)

Very true!! But it is our right to trash people's opinion's if they speak garbage. ;) That also makes this a site great. If you speak nonsense you will hear about it in here because the most informed and intelligent posters in the business happen to be here. :D

KT you're right ..... it was the only Tiger game I've seen this season (I've seen many of your playoff games in the last 15 years ... in person). I had heard similar remarks about this team being Katys' best in several years ..... therefore I was expecting more. And then I saw the start of this thread proclaiming "ridiculously good" and I felt compelled to give my observations on the Taylor game.

Nonetheless, I was merely stating an opinion as to what I observed (It was also 11:30 pm after a long drive home). I probably should have said "did not play like a top 10 team that afternoon" Did'nt mean to offend any of the Katy loyals. Please inform Ktrain that we definitely stayed for the entire game (I know that has been eatin at him). Also let SmilinTiger know that we will do a better job rootin next time ........ did'nt know we were being rated (lol).

And thanks to KtCarl for the invite on burgers and dogs ..... maybe next time!

And now to all of the "dragon ....blah blah blahh"'s Can't you guys stay out of everyone elses business. Always lookin for a way to cut some other program down in order to boost your self esteem (not even necessary - based on your success). Something about "living vicariously .... something something" Anyway ......... Get A Life !

And we'll be rooting for big red every time they play ......... unless they play ..... well you know!

Good luck guys!
