I had the records wrong on earlier posts...Shoemaker is 2-2 and Bryan is 2-2

(Games left are in parenthesis)

Cove 4-0 (Shoemaker, Consol, Belton)
AMC 4-0 (Belton, Cove, Bryan)
Shoemaker 2-2 (Cove, Bryan, Temple)
Harker 2-2 (Temple, Belton, Waco)
Bryan 2-2 (Waco, Shoemaker, Consol)
Waco 1-3 (Bryan, Temple, Heights)
Belton 1-3 (Consol, Heights, Cove)
Temple 0-4 (Heights, Waco, Shoemaker)

Consol 6-1 (I think Consol will beat Cove, could go either way tho..but I think Bryan or someone will sneak up on aCm)
Cove 6-1 (Cove only loss to aCm)
Shoemaker 4-3 (I hope they lose some they are suppose to win)
Harker Heights 4-3 (I hope Harker also loses to someone they are suppose to win)
Waco 4-3 (definitely can win the next 3 games)
Bryan 2-5 (I see them beat Consol or another team)
Waco 4-3 (definitely can win the next 3 games)
Belton 1-6 (season over)
Temple 0-7 (season over)

Waco still has an outside shot but has to win out....Shoemaker and Heights needs to lose some games.

So, someone needs to upset Shoemaker once....Cove should beat them..but someone else like Bryan needs to beat them.

If Waco wins out and that happens....Waco and Harker Heights game the very last game...like last year will be a huge game!

My first question would be. AMC should have lost to Harker Heights. They have had to come from behind the last 3 weeks. Why would you think they would beat COVE??? My second questing would be. Since Harker Height already beat Shoemaker and Should have beaten AMC, Why would you pick Shoemaker over Heights?? Is this you honest opinion or just wishful thinking??

Consol always plays rival games....at their home turf...and especially after losing to Cove last year pretty hard. They have a FG kicker than can kick over 50 yarders. They have as best of a chance as Waco has. Plus the game is on grass......how many games has Cove played on grass?

Are you kidding me? Who cares what the gamefield is (grass, turf, etc) thats ridiculous to make that a factor. Cove goes undefeated.

The grass/turf makes a difference whether you like it or not. Especially if it's raining and muddy..and during that time...it's mostly raining and muddy.......I think Cove remembers the last time they played there. .........don't get mad because I think Cove will lose a game.

You just want Cove to lose and it don't matter how.

You could be right since they are the ones with the target painted on them.

I don't see Cove getting beat. I think they played their bad district game against a Waco squad that is getting it together a little bit.

last year we didnt have a good field goal kicker that could kick over 50 he could kick at best 40,szymanski was better than him but didnt kick because he was a sophmore and the other kicker (gibby sawtelle) was a senior who missed 3 field goals the bryan game, but we did have a great punter

I see cove getting beat by aTm because they will control the clock and play 4 qtrs of ball. Not likley but when i see a loss in cove's column i see it by aTm. But i hope cove wins out.

Cove is a great team and the only way i see us winning this is by totally coming togher we really havent these past few weeks we have only come togher in the 3rd and 4th qtrs, if we want to beat cove we will have to the best game of our season so far, we do have a great kicker and, i do agree that playing on turf, grass, ext. does make a differance (as a player) but not a major one. It will be a good game but we def. are going in as underdogs.

why is there all this talk about aTms kicker he is good granted but our kicker is just as good and hes only been playing football for about a month now, he came closer to making a farther field goal against aTm then yall so called amazing kicker did. Also every kickoff by both of them was high deep and out of the endzone accept maybe one from each of them. Enough about this zymanski charecter lets hear more about grothe!!!

Our kicker is just as good and hes the starting quarterback.(Garner kicks everything outside 40, Mathews is inside 40 and XP's)The thing is Cove rarely has to kick outside 40

doesn't Ellison have that kid from Brazil that can kick 60+

I don't think Consol's kick will be a factor, mainly bacause I don't think
the score will be close enough that a FG would help

I think Cove's only tried about 4 FG's all season, the biggest was Garner's
44 yarder against Judson

Cove 35
aCm 20

I'll only get jealous if you win district. :)

You are coming to our house in two weeks, that should hopefully shut us all up and make the rest of this board happy!

Gotta beat Belton this week first though.

Cove, Consol leave rest of 13-5A chasing one last playoff berth

With a two-game lead over the rest of the 13-5A field, Copperas Cove and A&M Consolidated are virtual shoo-ins to reach the football playoffs. That leaves five teams — everyone but winless Temple — battling for the third and final playoff berth.

And it will be a LOOOOONG offseason for three of them that don't make it. Harker Heights, Bryan, Shoemaker and Waco have each let a big win or two slip away.

Relief is on the way however. Next year, four teams from each district will advance to the postseason.

Here's a look at the playoff chase for the teams on the bubble:

HARKER HEIGHTS

The Knights still remain the front-runner for the last playoff spot. Two of their last three games are at Buckley Stadium, they're playing the bottom three teams in the league and they have wins against the other 2-2 teams. But Heights is not good enough to overlook Belton, and the Waco game looks like more trouble with each passing week.

That game is on Thursday, so if Heights wins out, the final day of the season could be trivial.

Heights' offense only lacks a big-play threat. Was Nick Trice that guy?

n REASON TO CRY: Blew fourth-quarter lead at Copperas Cove. Up 14-10, let backup quarterback drive Consolidated 88 yards to winning touchdown in final minute.

n REMAINING SCHEDULE AND ITS 13-5A RECORD: vs. Temple, at Belton, vs. Waco (2-10).

SHOEMAKER

The Wolves' district-opening win over Waco is looking better each week. Shoemaker must win at Bryan.

The Wolves face a dilemma this week. Shoemaker could upset Cove with a big game from Keith Smith. On the other hand, the injury-prone quarterback could take a severe beating from the Dawgs' physical defense.

n REASON TO CRY: Missed extra point in regulation cost Wolves a win over Harker Heights. Then, given second chance, missed another one in overtime. Blew 21-0 lead at Consolidated.

n REMAINING SCHEDULE AND ITS 13-5A RECORD: at Copperas Cove, vs. Bryan, at Temple (6-6).

WACO

The Lions are finally coming together, and that's scary for the teams remaining on their schedule. It's no stretch to think Waco could win out, but they'll have to beat two tough teams on the road.

n REASON TO CRY: Lions blew 15-point lead against Consolidated in final 7 minutes. Two weeks later, Waco loses in triple overtime to No. 8 Copperas Cove.

n REMAINING SCHEDULE AND ITS 13-5A RECORD: at Bryan, vs. Temple, at Harker Heights (4-8).

BRYAN

The Vikings face a tough road to the playoffs. Waco and Shoemaker need wins against Bryan, and Consolidated will be looking for redemption against its next-door rival after the Vikings knocked it out of the playoffs on the final day last season.

With a healthy Artrell Woods at running back, Bryan likely would have defeated Heights. He is expected back in the lineup this week after sitting out with an ankle injury. The Vikings will need him.

REASON TO CRY: Blew 18-point lead in second half of 22-21 loss to Harker Heights.

REMAINING SCHEDULE AND ITS 13-5A RECORD: vs. Waco, at Shoemaker, vs. Consolidated (7-5).

BELTON

Even if they win out, which is about as likely as Ramonce Taylor appearing in the Tiger backfield again, the Tigers wouldn't have many head-to-head tiebreaker advantages.

REASON TO CRY: Played well enough to beat Bryan and Waco.

REMAINING SCHEDULE AND ITS 13-5A RECORD: vs. A&M Consolidated, vs. Harker Heights, at Copperas Cove. (10-2).

Ok, Harker Heights may get 3rd in districe(i think they will) but how could you pick shoemaker above them. Granted Shoe has a unbelivable offence but comeon, their D is way below average.

Heights has 2 of the last 3 at home where they are 7-1(or8-1) the last 2 years.

I say Heights wins out, plays lufkin 1st round, wins out, wins state.

what dummy picks shoemaker over a team they lost to. i don't see that at all. i see heights winning out and taking third, aTm losing next week agianst cove nad cove winning out to take first. i don't see a great game between aTm, there mat be a chance but you cannot base stuff off of last year because cove is alot better than they were last year, and aTm may be better but not like cove, so i see them taking the game and district.
 CAN YOU DIG THAT SUCKA
