Turnovers early in the game kept the Lobos from getting something going. However, Longview never was in the game. Pflugerville wanted it more and punished the Longview offense and defense. Silent P ran all over the Lobos and then some more. As I watched both teams go into the half I could tell that Longview had already lost and it was only 21-7. Pflugerville is a good team but I think they will get a real eye opener when they face a solid Abilene defense this coming weekend. Count on Abilene making use of all opportunities and winning this one by two scores.

It is really is odd how strong Pflugy has come on - the last three loss team I can recall possibly winning state was Midland in 2002. The common opponents of Leander and Dallas Carter were thrown out the window - should I say slammed out the window - as Longview handled both teams with ease - but had no success against the Panthers.
I really don't have a clue what to project against Abilene High. I do know the Eagles and Lobos are fairly similar teams - AHS is a bit better on D overall and their qb play is measurably better - but the two teams are similar IMO.
Congrats Longview on a very good run. You played as a team all year and good things happened.

AHS is a better, more balanced offense than Longview thus making them harder to defend. Also, AHS defense is much better than what Pf faced in previous rounds. As far as QB play, Mr Lackey is the best dual threat QB alive in the playoffs in 5a IMO. Longview is/was good but AHS wins no matter who they play and we'll see in San Antonio how the Katy/AHS game goes.

The Lobos couldn't stop the run against Pflugerville.
Many of Carter's losses were misleading because their starting quarterback was injured. In Carter's early season matchup with Plano, such was the case. With him in the lineup, it would have been a tougher game for the Wildcats.
Pflugerville has made a commitment to the run. Seems simple for an opponent, stop the run and win. Yet, in practice, can be difficult.

we were simply were overpowered. Pville is a very good team and they dominated us up front on both sides of the ball. I have been saying all year that this Longview team is not near as talented as we have been in the past but they find a way to win games and somehow went 4 rounds deep which many who are close to the team were even suprised by. I was not surprised at all that we lost. Turnovers stopped us from getting momentum and pville never let off the gas. good luck to pville.
