We've done this in the off-season but I thought it would be more interesting now. It would be nice to know a little more about other "posters".

I am TrinityTrojan80, grad of Euless Trinity in 1980. I also attended 2 years at Irving Mac, I am nearly 46 years old.

That last part is for someone who said there were a lot of "old" people on here:)...just remember, we hold the key to history - the older the better IMO. It's like when I used to listen to my grandfather talk about meeting Buffalo Bill and sitting on his knee - I thought he was SO freaking old but my gosh what a story and life!!

alot of 40ishs, kids in high school get you back to football games and you remember why you liked it? Not meaning that in a bad way at all, just curious. Thats what got my dad back into it (hes about to be 43). He played for Diboll and though he kept watching NFL he stopped going to High school games till I got there then we started catching a few together as a father/son thing we both enjoyed and I got hooked for the first time and he got rehooked.

Ditto TF4L!! You were just waiting for the good one to come along! I know the curse though.

Another gal pal of mine and I were at Carrino's last Friday killing a pitcher of Bellini's and talking some serious football about Permian, Trinity, SLC, Katy, and DI vs DII stuff, and offensive formations, etc. Anywho... the male server (about 20 or 22) came by to check on us and couldn't get a word in without interupting our lively exchange. When we finally noticed him - he had this look on his face like we were aliens from another planet!

But after a few trips to our table - he was hanging around longer and asking questions. He learned what DI and DII were and how the teams were determined. hahaha... Poor kid - that's probably a first for him. Two "old" gals sitting around talking serious high school football. But we always get strange looks from people near us who can overhear our usual heated debates. :p:o:D

As my screen name reveals I'm graduated from Permian in 2007, I'm an 18 year old freshman at North Lake College. I was one of the girls who went to the games because I actually enjoy football, unlike quite a few of the others Lol.

LMBO!! Of course there is.... The one that Permian hatched from. ;) Home of the Gatlin Brothers, the Red Rocker - Sammy Hagar, Roy Orbison, Hayden Frye, and KATT!!! We may not have won too many football games once little brother Permian came on the scene - but we had a heck of a lot more fun that our Mojo cousins. :D:D

Good answer.

I was exactly the same way when I was in high school. I was a true fan - was at every home game (couldn't afford to travel) and we won a couple every year. Hubbo asked me out for our first date at an OHS game. So - football has always been a part of this fam's life. :p

I know exactly what you mean about not being able to afford away games! I had never been to Shotwell until the AHS game. I decided that I was going to that game no matter what, and as luck would have it, I recieved my money that very day. That's sweet!:)

granted, we certainly didn't go as often as it seems they do now, but at least my way to the games were covered by the band director.

Thanks for the kind words Mom. I was fortunate enough to get #19 in the very first draft lottery (lucky me), so I figured I might as well sign up as opposed to waiting around for the inevitable. The Corp allowed me to finish undergraduate school, but got me into Platoon Leaders Class in the remaining summers in college.

I'm not kidding - next year I am gonna try and make some games outside 3-5A during pre-district. We will definitely get together (I may bring the rest of the blonde bombers) and knock back a few and talk some football. :D

I'm NOT leaving - you aren't that lucky! I would like to see a few games out of our area before district gets going. Like the weekend we have to travel to Amarillo, I'll take a trip to the metromess for some other football. (I hate that drive to Amarillo!!) PS, I'm gonna try and bring some of the Blonde Bombers with me.

katt can tell you I'm very old and she may have already told you thats why I am the way I am. I am tickled to find others as old or older than I.

One advantage to being old and living in the same town for 45 years you know every one. I know katt very well. She and the Mr. are buying land and a Farmall and will be raising watermelons next year when pre- district games are going on. She ain't going to any ET games.
