Congratulations to Clements High School Head Football Coach, Jeff Hulme for making the list of eight finalists for Coach of the Year. Word on the street is, that Coach Hulme is the front runner for this award. In only his 4th year at Clements, he has turned a program around, put a awesome "system" in place, created a "buzz" about Clements Football in the Community and has his Rangers playing the #1 Team in State, in the Region III Division 2 Finals. Thank you coach!

Nice to see Coach Carson of College Park is being considered. Very well deserved, I think.

Nice to see the boys from 17-5A recognized for thier play this season. I am especially proud of Shane Turner from Cy Falls. The article has him listed as QB, he is actually RB, but that's ok. Way to represent 17-5A!

Nice to see Coach Carson of College Park is being considered. Very well deserved, I think.
Coach Carson was nominated several times when he was the head coach at Aldine Eisenhower. Under his tutelage, IKE went deep into the state playoffs numerous times and once to the state championship game against Midland Lee (and Cedric Benson) in 1999. He took IKE to Lufkin in 2000 and beat the Panthers (with Reggie McNeal) by a score of 45-21 the very first time the two schools met. I have always thought Richard Carson deserved much more recognition than he received during those years at IKE. We wish him and the College Park football program the very best in the seasons to come! Your school got one of the real good ones!
GOOD LUCK COACH!

Is it just me or do other people think that Coach Gary Joseph sould also be a nominee 13-0, 44 points per game, 6 points against per game? These people are crazy.

That's expected from Coach Joseph...does that year in, year out....these other coaches are new or have turned programs around in the right direction.

I believe you can only be nominated again five years after you win.

I was really impressed by this coach. Would not mind if he got it.
He did a great job of coaching the Mavericks. I knew they would be good but they were much better than I expected.
Great team. Great coach. Great fans.
Lots of class.

For a second year HC, Coach Snelson has done an awesome job at PMHS and we are all happy to see that he was one of the nominations. I don't know if he will get it this year, but knowing coach, I'm sure he is simply happy that he is even being considered for such an award.

Thanks 78 Spartan for posting this!
I just saw Coach Gary Joseph from Katy on Ch. 13 discussing the play-off game this weekend. But Bob Allen didn't even mention the Touchdown Club awards, so thank you! DeSean Hales has been a stand-out athlete and an outstanding student in all the years I've known him. Congratulations to DeSean, and to Trent Hunter and Coach Hulme!

"Trent, with that award you also get an all expenses paid, week-long trip to a destination of your choice. Here''s an e-ticket. Oh, and you have to fly out this Saturday morning."
