View Full Version : Colleyville Heritage forfeits 3 wins

I dont have all the details, but CHHS used ineligble players in 3 of their games including the Grapevine game.
So this makes Colleyvilles record 5-5 for the year and the Grapevine series goes to 9-3 in favor of GV.
I feel bad for Richland who would have made the playoffs if this was found out in time.

Richland going to the playoffs would have sent SLC to Div-1, right? Talk about altering history.

Dang, not only does this discredit our playoff win a bit, but it also means that we would have had Southlake Carroll again in the first round had this been exposed earlier.

...and we never would have played Abilene, so.....we would have won state!

Not playing Abilene =/= winning State.
But yes, a very VERY different sequence of events would have gone down.

I don't think this discredits our playoff win at all. If they were using the ineligible players in the playoff game (unknown?), it almost adds extra to the win as we beat them despite their "cheating". If they weren't, then our eligible players beat their eligible players.
You are 100% right about meeting Carroll in the first round if this had been discovered earlier, though. I'm glad Flower Mound took that yearly 6-5A bullet this time around. Week 10 I was certainly hoping Keller would win and Richland would lose to keep SLC in Div-2.

Stop the playoffs. The UIL needs to start the brackets over again. Oh wait, they need to also wait until Riley heals.

Would SLC have beat Trinity? Would SLC have beat Permian? There is enough thread-starting material there to last until next season!! :D:D

In order, yes and yes. :D Fantasy land continues. Can I also assume that Dodge does not get hurt and is still playing? You are absolutely correct. This could go on for an entire off-season and prove absolutely nothing, except that in only a few short weeks, we will all be missing high school football again.

Of course we can--this is your fantasy. LOL :D Let's heal Tre and Tray, too---I would feel better about that.

Is there any confirmation that this is true? Can't find any mention of it online. When Irving High used an ineligible player earlier this year it was all over the news.

IF this is true, big IF, then I am sorry for the CH program. They have had a number of problems in the past years that have had an impact and with a coaching change I believe all were in hopes of those kinds of problems being behind them. I hope it isn't true, and if it is I suspect it was an innocent mistake. Wishing the best for the Panthers.
Are you serious? What is going on with coaches using these players in games? They are hurting the rest of the team when they do this type stuff but WOW!

We hear this every year with some team - 90% of the time it's a bad rumor. And, it's always for the same reason. I'm assuming this amounts to nothing. I'd be shocked if a team as sharp as ColHer pulls such a bonehead move.

I'm aware of one problem in eleven years that had little to do with Cunningham and a lot to do with one crazy woman and her son. If you know of other problems, and in particular those involving the head coach, would you please PM them to me?

I do not know all the details for sure but it involves a backup player who played in only 3 games in mop up duty. From what I understand some of those games were predistrict and thus did not affect the playoff picture in the district. This would have never came up but CHHS turned themselves in when they found out about the situation. So I would not think any less of the program because of this.

You are right, I didn't mean to imply anything, I was actually trying to be supportive (but I guess it didn't come across right). There was one problem that got a bit of publicity, a coaching change, and that is it. We should just let this drop. Until there is substantiation, it is just an evil rumor.

No problem. Remember we are in fantasy-land here. Trinity, Mojo, Katy, BCS, Dallas. No problem at all when we can just make it up from this point on. :D But thanks for the sentiments anyway for next season.

Fantasy land : 2007 Champs:
D1 - Trinity
D2 - Southlake
2008 Fantasy land : One Champion:
Trinity vs Southlake
Trinity wins, of course, a millionzillion1 to a millionzillion. Jerry loves us and gives back to the community - Texas Stadium - first highschool, standing room only game!
Remember this is fantasy land.
