My bud and I have been Trinity Season Ticket holders since 1979. I hope the Trinity vs Permian games continue when the 2008 - 2009 schedules are set. With the fan base of the two schools I can't think of any game that could be more exciting for the fans. We at Trinity can learn alot about fan support from Mojo with their pre game traditions. It could not have been more exciting for me and my running mate than when we pulled into Shotwell Saturday and saw the Mojo Fans in action in the parking lot. Man, talk about support, they know how to put on a show. Both teams are going to be a force in 5A Football for the fore seeable future. I was raised in Ft. Stockton and watching Mojo Football was on the same level as watching the old Southwest Conference and our annual trip to see Texas Tech. I believe the meetings of the Two over the past two years has turned into a rivalry if I might say so. If it doesn't happen during regular season I am sure it will happen in future playoffs. We played Midland Lee the two prior seasons before hooking up with Permian. It was a great to play out west but just not the same as the opportunity of play Mojo. Hope to see you boys in the future!!

Permian supports their boys but there were people from both Abilene and Permian lining up as early as 2:30 for their game at Shotwell. Other than Odessa High, fan base like that is more the norm in 3-5A

Trinity has a strong fan base, as you could see from by the crowd on the home side on Saturday at Shotwell, just not the game day traditions. I find this to be the norm for most metropolitan area programs and that's really too bad. Not sure why that is. That's not to say that the crowds are smaller, there just isn't a lot of tailgating, partying, motorhomes, etc. Maybe I'll build me a big smoker shaped like a Trojan helmet and take it on the road next year......

Now see... despite all those claims of metroplex superiority, there are STILL some things West Texas can teach y'all about football!!! :D

Permian and Abilene High also have the most bandwagon jumpers.
