Several posters have mentioned the possibility that Horn may have to forfeit its win over Rockwall. What is the scoop on this? That would be HUGE and could usher the Jackets into the playoffs.

If this is true, this would be the second year in a row that Horn has had to forfiet games. Who is minding the store there? I can understand it happening once, but two years in a row?

Someone fill me in on the real story, if you know it...

What could cause a team to overturn a win? Using an un-eligible player?

Our radio guys mentioned it tonight on the broadcast. I do not know for sure they had to, but they made it sound like it was pretty certain.

It's happened already this year in East Texas. Whitehouse had to forfeit several wins because they used an ineligible player. It could happen in not just football, but band, basketball, and other activities. They don't take it to lightly when you ignore the No Pass No Play rule. The Whitehouse issue was with a player living outside of their district and still attending the school and playing on the team. I don't know what happened with Horn, if it was grades, living situation, or what. This is just what I heard on our radio broadcast. I have no details with it right now. Guess we'll find out soon.

This is the first I have heard of it...but I wouldn't consider anything our announcers say as certain.

Didn't the very same thing happen to Horn last year? And against Rockwall also?

That said, I think Rockwall makes the playoffs regardless. Your representatives for 12-5A will be Longview, John Tyler and Rockwall.

Last year, Horn forfeited wins against Rockwall and Jesuit.

I don't know what's happening this year.

Last year, they played a 5th-year senior. This year, it could be that or it could be a kid who didn't tell the coaches he is failing.

the coaches should get a list of all their players grades and go through at look at it that way, they do that at carroll, as well as make hte players get a sheet signed by their teacher with their grades on it
