We all know the BCS bowl system does not fully monetize the situation - and the ignorant college presidents - so, which system is best?
First - you have to acknowledge the bowl system is unique- but it makes huge bowl games like the Rose Bowl totally meaningless right now - USC vs. Illinois? Who cares - the ratings will stink.
Obviously - in the Plus 1 - you make the Rose, Fiesta, Orange and Sugar all equal games - and throw out the title game. You then square off No. 1 vs. No. 2 - but you also square off the two "hot" teams (by a new voting system) - in this case it would be Georgia vs. USC. The winners of those two games play - HOWEVER, voters can bump up another team if so deserving, but again, it would be weighted - the "odds" would favor a winner of these two games.
The Plus 2 would be more desirous because you could go to a top 8, and give the seeding some relevancy. No. 1 vs. No. 8, No. 2 vs. No. 7, etc. - with the first round being the 4 bowl games - and the championship game on Jan. 15 -which is only one extra week.
