not much crow eating going on here. but since Trojan fans are one year and one week removed from a painful playoff loss we ought to be gracious in victory.

although I do have a special recipe ready for fried crow available to op.com ;)

I figured the Crows would be flying to the West from Shotwell after seeing Permian's Run Through Sign (Biggest I have ever seen) stating "HAKA? Looks more like a Hula?". Good advise is to never ever pi$$ off anyone weighing over 300 pounds. Great season MOJO, hope to see you next year.

From a Permian fan at the game, congrats to the Trojans on your win! I didn't expect it to go down the way it did, i'd figured it would be closer.

It's a tough loss for me to take, I can't imagine what it's like for the players, coaches, and the family of both. I guess people will still doubt Permian after this game, but I guess we'll have to try again next year.

no crow for me thanks-i still stand proud by my boys.
i am just grateful that our loss was not accompanied by a devastating injury like SLC (puts in perspective at what price does a win come).

people can think what they want Silver-we will still keep coming back.

best of luck trojans for the rest of the year. play safe

and btw

I went to the game also and it seemed to me that the Trojans were Much more pumped up from the start of the game than permian was.

On a side note that line ref. on Permians Side is the worst piece on Shi* that I ever saw in a game.

Congratulations to the Euless Trinity Trojans on their dominant win over my Permian Panthers. The Trojans played as close to a perfect game by a high school team I have ever seen. Both their offense and defense played an excellent game.

I raise no “but only if…” issues, as I threw Woulda, Coulda and Shoulda out the window as I drove through Merkel (they’re bad company at any time).

I wish Euless Trinity the best of luck as they move on through the Class 5A Division 1 playoffs. Continue to play with the focus, enthusiasm and skill you displayed today and I believe you will win the 5A Div 1 State Championship.

Humility is a quality or characteristic ascribed to a person who is considered to be humble. "Humility is derived from the Latin word "humilis", which means low, humble, from earth.[1] A humble person is generally thought to be unpretentious and modest: someone who does not think that he or she is better or more important than others. The concept of humility in various religions is often much more precise and extensive. Humility is not to be confused with humiliation, which is the act of making somebody else feel ashamed, and is something completely different

I also think he may have been inferring that you may need a little dose of humility. You really talked some major smack and were EXTREMELY disrespectful and discarded any arguments that ET fans made about our team.

We are a different team than week 2 - and it was only a non-district game - and we were banged up - and we were novices at skill positions (McGhee was not our back up on varsity last year and he was in a 3-4 man rotation on JV) - and we did over extend ourselves in play calling - and we did turn the ball over 5 times (though you didn't score on all of them - it did take our chance of scoring on that drive away) - and we never said you didn't deserve to win that first game - we stank up the field and we knew it - and we THANK YOU for the butt whooping in week 2 as it made us take a good long look at what was going wrong so we could fix it. These were never excuses they were facts.

I think MOJO has every right to be proud of their boys - they played a great game. Trinity was just better. :D

Well it's not. ET made things so easy and clear for Me, yesterday. Oh, I still think Permian is a very good team. The best we have had in ages but yesterday we found a far superior team. A team that beat us side line to side line and end to end. We had no answer to any position ET had on the field. This game reminded me so much of our game with you last year.

To ET posters on this site, You have been right in the assessment of your coach and of your team. Every thing ET was simply overwhelming. On a similar note, I want to shout out to two of Trinity's players, the big TE (#81???) and one of your linemen (didn't catch the number). My 10 year old son was on the sidelines with me the whole game. He wears an Austin Shaffer #45 jersey (mini version) at the games. During the post game handshake they both went out of their way to shake his hand and say good luck to MOJO and stuff like that. He thought it was very cool and so did I.

This thread doesn't speak well of some of the Trinity fans. It smells of bad sportsmanship.

Allen fans stayed off the board a day or so after their loss before coming back to talk. They had to be in agony. I would expect lots of Carroll and Permian fans to sit out today before joining the discussion.

And on this board, when a set of fans has talked big all week and their team loses, they normally keep quiet for a day or so, and then congratulate the victor and offer to eat crow as necessary.

But when the fans of the winning team start the crow thread, it just makes the other fans bitter and think poorly of your team.

Hopefully the other Trinity fans are somewhat embarrassed.

We have some pretty classy boys on our squad too. #81 would be Terry Fabaluje (fa-ba-lou-jay, with a soft "j" sound, almost sh)...only a sophomore and super nice kid to boot.

I'm sorry that you and others can take the posting of clips from newspaper articles, etc as trash talk. I certainly don't. I do find it a bit ironic*** that koldham posted the blurb about humility. Don't you agree that coming on a message board demanding someone eat crow, shows a lack of humility?

O NO I wasn't blameing the official on this loss not at all but u HAVE to agree he just didn't make good calls. AT ALL.

What I found funny is when he called the first Touchdown try from permian as short he knew he made a mistake and on the second go around (which I'm not sure he did make it in) he was the first one to call it a TD.
I was sitting on the benches right at the goal line.

I didn't see anything wrong with the others.

Well ET did something that nobody has done all year, They forced us to play ball on their terms. Every opponent we have played this season had to play ball according to the tempo we set, Our coaching staff works well making adjustments but you cant adjust something in which you have no control of. Our D secondary had to play way too shallow and that left us open for the pass, When they played deep the run would kill us. What it boils down to is ET had their way with both our D and O, I guess you could say Lineweaver had a score to settle and did it rather loudly.:notworthy You guys earned this one.

Now someone mentioned a ref, Well he did suck badly!!! Now understand that none of his missed calls would have made a difference in the outcome of the game but HE SHOULD BE BANNED FROM OFFICIATING, About 7000 people as well as all of our players saw a facemask that happened about 2 feet from him, He argued with Allman and shortly after that he spoke with security. People this Ref is a flaming POS!!

Does anyone know where this officiating crew was from?

Can I have mine deep battered and fried at least??:puke

First, congrats ET...you guys played an outstanding game. In many ways it was much like our first meeting - just reversed...:cry Y'all came out and smacked us in the mouth and kept us off-center all day. We never got our offense in sync, and much of that was due to outstanding defensive play. Your young QB has matured greatly in a few short months, and should be downright scary next season.

I won't apologize for believing in our boys, and I never would have believed Saturday was possible beforehand. Our kids played one helluva season, but ran into a one-ton brick wall Saturday. It sure is hard to watch someone else do to you what you did to everyone else all year... Nonetheless, I am proud as I can be in what they accomplished this season, and especially how they helped breathe new life into the MOJO pride!

It's hard to believe it's over, but I think we are in the same position we were last year - knocked out of the playoff race by the State Champions. I hate adding that 1 to a 12-1 season, but at least we'll be able to say that the only loss was against the State Champs (and that we got to add the only "1" to theirs, too!!!:p).

I would wish ET good luck for the rest of the season, but I don't think they will need it. Trinity is gonna roll to another title this season.

Pretty sure it was Houston area

BTW - we thought the refs missed a bunch of holding calls against you , but like you said they did not decide the game, but i if was a close game it could have been a mess. I think they made a few incorrect spots ( for both teams) but not as bad as some of the refs we had lately.

I honestly think they are against any winning team, I am sure you guys as well as others have seen it from your stands against your teams. This will continue to be a problem until they start holding the officials accountable for their obvious bad or missed calls, This is their job in which they get paid very well and if I was to perform at their level of excellence I would be fired due to poor job performance.

well, i have been here almost as long as you buddy!

just because i don't have to run my mouth constantly and rack up 800 posts doesn't mean my opinion means less. i can still READ!

Better to remain silent my friend and be thought as foolish than to open your pie hole and prove it.

You know nothing about me, my tenure on this board, or my posting habits. Enjoy the rest of your sophmore year. Maybe mommy will put a treat in your lunch box tomorrow for being such a good boy and working on your reading.

I have to agree. Officiating didnt make a difference, but it was terrible. I saw atleast 3 offsides on both teams and it was never called. I saw missed calls all over the place. These guys really took that "let them play" a little too serious.

My brother-in-law is part of a high school referee team in another state and sometimes in TX. If you think they are highly paid, you are mistaken. I can't understand why he does it. The little bit of cash he is paid doesn't make up for the negatives he receives on a regular basis. He has fled stadiums on occasion because some parents believe a bad call should be dealt with by capital punishment to him or his car.

No, The guy that drug him down was not behind him but more facing him with his hand on his face mask. The ref kept telling Allman that his hand was on the front of his jersey, The ref was seriously only about 2 feet from him. We were on row 32 about the 33 yard line looking right at it.

He was speaking with security about the guy who does the Mojoland website. Security was asked to escort him off the field for hollering at the refs from the sideline apparently. :o

As for the missed facemask infraction, it was bad. There were some officiating issues overall, but nothing like we had last week vs EP Montwood (worst I've seen in a long time), and none that would have changed the eventual outcome in this game.

IF it was the one I am thinking of it was on your side on about the 35? yard line. I taped the game and had to rewind it to see what happened. He actually was grabbed in the frt collar area about where the neck is.

Good pictures. I'm in one of them. Funny.

Crow is for people that spout off before the game and claim victory. I'm not one of those people. I was scared of this game from the time I knew we would meet again. ( I started the main 'MOJO vs. Trinity" thread and stated That I had no clue who would win. I will say I was a little surprised by the outcome, but thats high school football. Congratulations 'haka' and hopefully we were beaten soundly by the eventual state champions two years in a row.

He had him by the facemask definitely. I've got it on my film, it happened right in front of me.

EDIT- Upon further review, the defender does briefly grab the facemask, but then lets go and drags him down by the shirt collar as koldham says. He gets the facemask at first but does not drag him down by it. Maybe it deserved a flag of the 5 yard variety but it wasn't as blatant as it initially appeared. Good call.

For me, one that has been in a overload mode of support for Permian since the season began. You might think this is very hard to show up and to express my thoughts.

I can offer no other compliment any more powerful that offering my support of your team for the next game and througout the rest of the playoffs. I cannot imagine any one beating you. Go get it! HAKA.

I 'm scratching my head over this one........ OBJECTIVE AS THEY COME.
As an old Midland Boy..........This POST IS AS OBJECTIVE AS MY OLD BRAIN CAN BE....HERE GOES.......I decided to sit on the Trinity side , Home side, I don't know why, okay maybe to hear what was said by some of the Trinity fans. I don't think Trinity is the superior team, HEAR ME OUT....!
They did play an excellent game, and had the perfect game plan to beat Permian. The performance of the TRINITY QB , was to say the least , was Brady like, In a big game. I believe ALLMAN had a good game plan, but scrapped it after the wind affected the Permian passing game, but I BELIEVE HE didn't give it enough time for the qb to adjust to the wind. Therefore killing Mojo offense. Allman didn't use #38 enough, I think just 7 rushes for 50+ yards. The Mojo defense got whipped, Great Job by Trinity offense.
I believe Allman made bad decision after bad decision, going for it on 4th down twice - against the wind. Mojo defered to the 2nd half......He should of elected to kick with the wind. If Mojo Defense gets a stop, Trinity punts into the wind , Mojo scores, its a closer game. But there's no guarantee Mojo D, STOPS Trinity. Risk you gotta take .......make a long story short, everything went Trinity's way. Even in the fourth quarter when Trinity was going to go against the wind, The wind died down and out.....I'm not making excuses for Permian, but No matter what happened out there, it was just Trinity's day.... , JUST LIKE IT WAS PERMIANS DAY, BACK IN SEPTEMBER......
Too bad they can't go for 2 out of 3 , because I believe who ever would win the 3rd game would be the better team......:)
I Enjoyed the game, and Trinity fans were sooo happy, its was great to watch them celebrate......God Bless, & Jesus Saves:)

Congrats to Permian and Mojo on a great season.

I really wanted to see a Plano/Permian Semi final game, I think that game would have been fun from an atmosphere point of view.

Playing Trinity for a trip to state will be fun but, but won't have the historical sub-plots of two titans with the tradition going at it. It will feel more like a big non-district game.

Good luck next year Mojo.

Grats to the Trinity Trojans... From what I heard on the radio your lines did to Mojo this game, what the Mojo did to you the first game... Control the line of scrimmage, pressure the QB and open holes for the running game... You guys definately have tremendously improved and I hope you guys win it all... I'm sure you have some fans out here in West Texas for the next few weeks... Hopefully we can see you again next year, if not during Non-district, at least in the playoffs... Trojans D1 Champs and Eagles D2 sounds good to me... To the Mojo boys, you had a great run, and you should be proud of what you accomplished... This game will stick in your mind for a while, but the memory from this year should be about the big pictured and what you accomplished for Permian football... To the seniors, you have done amazing things for a Mojo program that was at an alltime low... You have brought victory and respect back to the program, and shown that Mojo is back... I can't wait to see how Darren Allman Season 4 turns out... He is a great coach and is proving to be just what Mojo needs... To the Juniors and Sophs... The fans will be there to see you through next season and cheer you on to another great year of Mojo football...

Go MOJO! Go Eagles! and HAKA to state!

#45 Shaffer has battled a knee strain all year. #33 Sotelo's deal may have been a hip pointer or something.

I was wondering about the Trinity lineman that went down in the 4th quarter. It appeared he may have simply had a cramp but I wasn't sure.

Shaffer took a hit to the left knee on the second play of the game, Sotelo I have no idea about. I will have my daughter ask Porter how they both are, If you didnt notice Berryhill took a hit in the hip which he didnt seem to be able to shake off.

Shaffer has had problems with his right knee, During the second play of the game he got hit low on the left leg and came off the field. We watched to see if he was okay and noticed that when he made it back onto the field he had both knees wrapped. I made the comment mid way through the first qtr that even if we won this game we were gonna be so banged up that we wouldnt have a chance to advance beyond the next round.

From what my brother was telling me... Haka didnt have much class at the end of the game. telling our coach to go F&^k himself and we told you this and that...

Allmans response: Have some class.

Looks like Euless needs it

Get classy, er...stay Classy.

not to mention the signs at the end of the game, this isnt a wrestling match. I've never ever seen a sign in Ratliff bashing anyone... or the fans flipping off our Panther Paws.... 15-18 year old girls.... CLASSY = Haka.

But they did put it on us, so I guess that entitles you to do whatever you want. Congrats and good luck.

Maybe you forgot...Mojo elected to kick with the wind, but key here is the Trojan defense kept Mojo from scoring quickly.

Kicking with the wind was the right choice, but the Trojans moved the ball all the way to the Permian 5 yard line, killing valuable time for the Permian offense to operate with the wind at their back.

The Trojan defense stalled Mojo enough during that first quarter, forcing a punt on the first series and stalling a TD drive that started on the Trinity 40 till there was only a minute left in the first quarter. Thus Permians turn at wind advantage was negated. With only 7 points to show for that critical quarter they were in a hole, add to that 5 consecutive scoring drives later, the game was all but over.

However you were right, the wind did effect Permian a whole lot more than it did Trinity.

Without the wind it would have been a much better game, it's in conditions like these that it helps to have a dependable run game.

Should Allman have stayed with Berryhill? hindsight says yes, but it's too late now.

I am back on, was gone a day and the board crashed. If you have some crow for me I will take it. Not sure if I got any that belongs to me. Congrats to ET, you guys played a great game. Good luck the rest of the way.

All I can figure on the "kick with the wind" comment by wise_man  might have been at the start of the second half, rather than taking the ball in the 3rd quarter. In hindsight, our first series of the second half was umm, unfortunate :puke . But if so, the comment is 20/20 hindsight. I doubt many coaches would make that call: "We're behind by 13, but we'll give you the ball again, because we can stop you (which we're 1 of 4 in doing, btw) and get the ball back in better field position." It could have happened and, if it did, it would have been better than what actually transpired.

But woulda, coulda and shoulda I dumped off the bus in Merkel and I ain't inviting them back now. Lots of things could have been different, but they weren't and it's in the books. Our team fought to the end and came up short this go-round. Facts and I are both ugly, but I get used to it (does not mean I like 'em :( ).

As I said before, full props to Trinity for an outstanding game. You guys keep it up and win State in D1.

Well the game could have been played in Texas Stadium where the wind would have not be a factor :D:D

Allthough Berryhill had a very good average, he was also cut down a few times and stopped for losses. More carries for him would have not necessarily changed the outcome. It was not like he was unstoppable.

Never understood why OP could not throw against the wind and ET could

I think Trinity's D-Line and pass rush had SOME effect on it.... Seemed like T-Byrd couldn't take 3 steps without someone being in his face...

Berryhill also went out with a hip stinger at one point - don't know how much it affected his output and usage...

I just wanted to tell the Permian fans on this site how much we enjoyed the atmosphere at Saturday's games. We had never been to a game involving Permian before so didn't know what to expect. When we drove up to Shotwell and saw that the visitor's side parking lot was already packed with trailers, smokers, tents, flags, grills, etc. etc., we couldn't believe it. Trinity certainly has a large fan base and can pack a stadium, but we don't really have the party atmosphere that we saw on Saturday. It was very college-like. I especially liked the big black motorcoach on the back side of the stadium with the huge black flag flying from it. Wow. Anyway, thanks for a great game and good luck to your team in the future.

I too would like to add my worthless 2 cents to the discussion regarding MOJO Fans. We in the Metroplex have much to learn regarding unified cheering. It certainly was intimidating, my wife and I were pretty impressed, almost like attending an SEC game.

I went to the game also and it seemed to me that the Trojans were Much more pumped up from the start of the game than permian was.

On a side note that line ref. on Permians Side is the worst piece on Shi* that I ever saw in a game.

No, I don't think he had anything to do with what I saw out there Saturday. I saw a faster, bigger, stronger, and more physical team. don't blame the officials they let the boy's play football. that's all you could ask for. I still believe that the winner of that game will win the Div, I state game. I just wish this game could have been later in the play-offs.
GOOD JOB ET !!!

Show some class or go away.

LMAO-
Would you mind offering up this advice to several other people on the board?

i was hoping that Jamison would have had more play on Sat as he is an absolutely awesome (true no one is unstoppable, but seeing that kid move is so cool).
My husband is his math teacher, and limping has been something seen an awful lot for that kid this year. I certainly hope some schools are looking at him, but if there is a bright spot in our loss-it's that maybe he can let his knees heal and pass his AP Calc exam!;)
