I've been trying to tell anyone that would listen that Waco was a pretty damn good team, just bad luck this season. In that "most underrated team" thread, I listed Waco and that didn't even solicite a comment. Maybe now people will appreciate their talent. They earned my respect a few weeks ago. I'm sure they have Cove's respect now. Waco is playing for pride. And, they seem to have a lot of it.

Waco Got Game....... Cove had 4-5 fumbles, not an excuss, Waco caused them, pretty much out played Cove. Cove D held when they had to, and sealed it in the end (3rd OT) Waco has talent and a lot of heart, their players were lying on field after Cove held on 4th down and short in 3rd OT, you could see they were in pain from losing and they knew they let it get away.
Hat's off the the Lions......Cove escaped in this one

ya heck of a game.. Cove was fumbling but it was forced, both teams played kinda sloppy in the second half. Two great D's goin at it.. What an overtime as well, big play by trey henderson on the 4th and short

Who fumbled for cove, and what was the play call on the 4th and 2 in OT?

Buckram fumbled a couple, then we had a halfback pass up 14-7 with 4 min to play, our reciever got it and fumbled on the waco 2....The play call was a sweep to the left.. MLB Henderson made a shoestring tackle

If Waco had a FG kicker the game would have been over earlier..........30 yard FG was missed right up the middle.

The majority of these kids playing for Waco High are all sophomores...including our running back Jared Salubi......

We should rock 4-A next year.....

And if everytime Waco fumbled it wouldn't of been ruled down, and if passes 20 feet above the receiver wouldn't of been called pass interference the game wouldn't of been close. There are a lot of what ifs. But the better team usually comes out on top despite adversity. I have to give Waco credit though. They are much better than expected and will spoil some team's playoff hopes.

Both teams played sloppy in the second half? Uhh we(the offense) only had the ball for six plays, and we were dominating the D. Hawk fumbled but everything happens for a reason. Don Tay Ward was a lot better than I thought he was. I thought he would be just fat and slow, but he hit hard as hell and was just a good football player. This game was great for us. We need to get games like this to better us for the playoffs. Good Luck Waco. I could tell you guys wanted this. Heres to you guys spoiling someones playoff hopes. You guys are going to be sick for years to come. You boys had some great young talent. Buckram only fumbled once. Brent fumbled once. Rashad Hawk fumbled once. We played like crap the first half, but no one beats us in the fourth quarter and I guess overtime too. Thats been our moto since we started offseason and it is paying off.

If if's and but's were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry christmas.

Consol escaped Waco. Cove escaped Waco. Not sure who else will escape Waco, but some will not.

Lack of a kicking game is a definite weakness for any team.

I said they had a lot of talent on the field after our week 0 win over them. Just look at their schedule and then ask yourself how many of their games were lost to teams that are not at least a top 20 team in the state! Waco has a very tough schedule and they are a young team trying to get a new offense going. Our defense put the hurt on them but there was no doubt watching the game that there was a whole lot of potential out there for the Lions. Great game! Congratulations go to both teams for giving it your all!

My earlier statement of hanging 40 on the Lions was just a little off...... :D

WACO GOT GAME......13-5A should take notice, the reports of Waco being over and out are wrong, never count out a Lion when his back's against the wall....4-3 might get into the playoff show

Waco can still get in but needs Shoemaker to lose a couple....which could happen.

(Games left are in parenthesis)

Cove 4-0 (Shoemaker, Consol, Belton)
AMC 4-0 (Belton, Cove, Bryan)
Shoemaker 3-1 (Cove, Bryan, Temple)
Harker 2-2 (Temple, Belton, Waco)
Bryan 1-3 (Waco, Shoemaker, Consol)
Waco 1-3 (Bryan, Temple, Heights)
Belton 1-3 (Consol, Heights, Cove)
Temple 0-4 (Heights, Waco, Shoemaker)

Consol 6-1 (I think Consol will beat Cove, could go either way tho..but I think Bryan or someone will sneak up on aCm)
Cove 6-1 (Cove only loss to aCm)
Shoemaker 5-2 (I hope they lose some they are suppose to win)
Harker Heights 4-3 (I hope Harker also loses to someone they are suppose to win)
Waco 4-3 (definitely can win the next 3 games)
Bryan 2-5 (I see them beat Consol or another team)
Belton 1-6 (season over)
Temple 0-7 (season over)

Waco still has an outside shot but has to win out....Shoemaker and Heights needs to lose some games.

Waco will win out.

Cove, Bryan, Temple, and Belton appear to have the toughest games left although, anyone in 13-5a can beat the opponent in this tough district. If Waco does not win out i wlll be surprised. Just come with the game plan you had against Cove and its yours.

Cove has three tough games ahead of them and the price gets higher each week as everyone wants to be the one to knock them off first.

Waco's game plan was well exicuted. I wish i had the stats from the paper. Time of possession for Waco will be like 45 minutes to Coves 15.

Man, that is pretty impressive that Waco controlled the line of scrimmage like that.

Heights plays waco i the last game of the season, home, so i think it'll be a great game. Heights will most likley be fighting for the playoffs unless they jus absolutly blow it, so that should spark a great game
