Everything i've heard the last few days points to Mike Vick doing a good amount of time behind bars, several years maybe. my question is this, WTF??!
everyday there are people out there who go out, get drunk and drive, and reduce a family of four to a family of three, and get 10 years probation.
everyday a drug dealer gets caught selling crack cocaine to kids and he gets 6 months in jail and a couple years probation
A man here in Abilene set an apartment complex on fire, displacing some 300+ people and burning every belonging they had, and the dude got 3 years prison.
AND YET Michael Vick is going to get at least 18 months in the hoosegow. WTF AMERICA? WTF JUDICIAL BRANCH? WTF. :cry

Better to complain about the other folks who got off too lightly, than about one that got what he really did deserve. Vick's sentence is absolutely fair. What's unfair is how many people skate.

Your approach is wrong. You are suggesting that because others got off lightly, Vick's punishment should be relative to theirs. No sir. Vick's punishment is not the problem because it is fair and just. The problem, the problem that you should be addressing is not how the legal system has failed Vick, but how it has failed in relation to more serious crimes.
BTW, the guy responsible for the 20/20 fire should be in jail for at least 20 years. Not only did he set the fire and destroy tons of property and threaten the lives of everyone there and in the surrounding neighborhoods, but he lied to police. The obstruction of justice alone should be worth 3 years. Then they should have added 300+ counts of attempted murder. He got off far too light. That doesn't mean Vick should too.

i guess i could have worded it differently, but i you did partially get it right. i believe it is ridiculous that he's gettin thrown in jail for a crime against his own property. thats absurd. its also absurd that guys like the aforementioned 20/20 arsonist got off so lightly. im saying why is there such a small gap in incarceration time between the two? one guy killed some dogs, the other almost killed 300+ people and put made those 300+ people homeless and many without a shirt on their back. why? thats my gripe.

He had millions of dollars, endorsement deals, kids looking up to him etc. etc. and yet he still chose to break the law? Yup the punishment fits the crime
