Looking at the team scoring leaders and saw that SC has allowed 4.3 ppg this
year. Is the D that good and capable of stopping a high power offense or is it just an easy district? I like to think the D is very good when I see those stats
but like North Shore, you can't tell because the opponents are not strong. SLC is giving up 18 ppg and I can't gage them either except if they are playing weaker teams I would think their defense is suspect.

They are good, but how good I'm not sure just yet! The toughest teams that we have played to date were Waco 21-0 and SA Roosevelt 15-3. I do think that we are better defensively than the 03' team that lost to Katy in the semis though. Our D-line is tough. The tackles both have good size and can stop up the middle. Our big D-lineman (Bo Hurley 6'5" 300) was moved to O-tackle this year because that is where he will play in college. The two ends are really good also. One senior D-end is about 6'1" and 220 and very quick the other is a junior and in my opinion will be heavily recruited next year. He is probably 6'4" and 250 and is quick! The Linebackers are all three solid and fly to the football. The D-backfield is very good. All 4 with great speed and can tackle as well as cover! One is a standout point guard on the basketball team as well as one hell of a d-back. I beleive he can play D-1 Basketball or football!

You're correct about our district except for SM and Seguin. Besides Waco and Roosevelt we played Taylor and Austin SFA in non-district games. When we scheduled these four teams two years ago they were all four pretty good teams. I think they have all slipped quite a bit since then.

We should get a pretty good test next Friday when San Marcos comes calling. They have a really good running team and I beleive are averaging 30+ points a game. If we can stop them, then I'd say the D is pretty darn good!

I guess we'll find out just how good we really are when we line up against Judson in the first round! LOL I know that we have a much better team then last year when the busted our chops 31-0!

regardless of the comp for 4.3 ppg is as impressive to me as any of the offensive stats tossed around.

Sounds like a formidable defense. Judson will be a good test any way you slice it. The 4.3 is still impressive because it at least shows SC is doing what they should be doing against weaker teams. If were 18-21 ppg against those teams than you should worry. NS's D has only allowed one td from any opponent. The 14 point score from LaPorte was due to an interception runback. I' bothered by the Woodlands score. The D held up but the O couldn't get it done.

It sure sounds like NS is for real for sure! What division will NS be in?
