yes and i don't know if he will do them again but he has apoligized and he has been trying to make things work. and then when things start to work i go and open my mouth. i guess i need to keep it shut. i guess really i need to learn how to trust him and not push him away. is it true that if a girl keeps accusing a guy of doing something and he is not doing it most likely he will go and do it in the end?

In all seriousness, I have been in that very situation and I found that for me, personally, once that trust was gone, it could never be fully restored again. I tried and she tried and even though I never said anything to her, there was always this wall that prevented us from moving any further. I eventually had to move on because the whole situation was driving me bonkers.

I tend to be a very cynical person. She asked me to trust her and I just couldn't do it... not all the way anyway. Not enough to have any kind of meaningful relationship. It has been my experience that if they have done it once that you know of, they have probably done it other times you don't know of and they will probably do it again. Again, I am a cynic. I wish you better luck.

Sorry, that's just the way I'm wired. i don't screw a round, and niether should she. To JTK's point, once it's out there, very seldom can it be repaired. only on the trust part. Yes, the understanding my wife and I have always had, is that if you don't want to be with me alone, then why would I ever force you to stay? It is absolute for us. I have always been that way too, so she knew it when we met. There's something about setting goals and expectations together that make a relationship successful. i don't know, maybe we just got it wrong?

I absolutely believe in forgiveness. I also believe in consequences for such a deliberate act. it doesn't mean I wouldn't forgive her, but the marriage would no longer exist.
