Simple poll for anyone that has an opinion on the matter. Who is / was the better running back for the spread offens between Luna and Newton. How can you compare a rookie sophmore to a back who started in 3 championship games? Wouldn't a better question be: Do you think Newton as a senior will be better or worse than Luna? That question has merit.

Not really because that would defeat the purpose of trying to determine which offense is better between the 2005 SLC offense and the 2004 SLC offense.

They bring 2 completly different styles of football to this team. This team is developing a role for Tre so far this season and with time everything will flow more smoothly. They were/are both uniquely special and talented. But it would be unfair to say which one is better. We win with both. It is that simple.

I saw Newton last night and being a sophmore should have nothing to do with his play. When Lane was sophmore he was awesome. I did not see the second half, but in the first half he did not impress me that much. As of now he just a average back. You guys got a machine going up there. One of these days some college is going to calling Todd with a offer he can,t refuse. I see a weakness in your defense, but I don,t think it will hurt you guys too much, unless a team pound on you with the run. But most teams get so far behind and have to give up running the ball.

Yeah Newton did not dominate like he has in previous weeks, and I guess that can be partially blamed on injuries and such. And DR deserves some credit for slowing him down. It just wasn't his night last night. He needs to get some rest so he can stay fresh for the playoffs. He has been getting pretty banged up lalty.

I don't think the pole said anything about which back brought what to the table. Just a simple this back is better than that back.

you cant say newton is even close to Luna yet... might be but he still has two 1/2 years left of dragon football.
You can't begin to compare this years team with the past teams until they prove that they have what it takes to win the state championship. at the end when all the records are done and stats are final, then u can start to compare teams and players.

dont get me wrong Newton has the skills to be something great.
