I know national rankings don't really don't mean much but for all you mojo fans your team is now ranked 25th in the nation in the USA Today High School Football Rankings. Here is the link

Legitimate question: Honestly, does any one poll "trump" another poll?
MaxPreps.com has a really nice web site and uses a "power formula" for their rankings. For the past weeks, if not months, Permian has been the highest ranked team in Texas...currently 16. no other Texas team is in the Top 25. For that matter, neither is MNW :)

Is it just a matter of conveniece which poll a person/team chooses?

I think Maxpreps is sorta a joke. they had us in front of Katy.... and that isnt the case. I believe we are right where you should be on most polls. #3 in the State and now, #25 in the country (with every win, that should move up....)

As a loyal KATY fan living here since 1988 I only wish we could play you guys. I grew up in Lubbock graduated from Monterey in 1983 and was fortunate enough to play you guys in your glory days at Jones Stadium in the playoffs. Monterey had maybe 1000 fans while MOJO had 10,000. Needless to say you kicked our butts. That was my first real taste of big time high school football. I remember telling everyone of the MOJO fan support and really thought I would never see anything like that again until I moved to Katy. Same ol same ol. Katy reminds me of that day in the early 80's every game. The entire community supports Katy Nation even the other 5A schools that either don't make the playoffs or loose in the first round (Cinco Ranch). I wonder if Midland LEE will be attending your games?:):)

A few have been, and a few of "the other Odessa school" players and fans have been.

From what I understand, a good contingent of their players actually showed up for the game against Montwood - after getting beaten by Coronado the night before. Which says alot about their character and the camaraderie of West Texas football.

YES Midland Lee Players, parents and fans came to our game the day after their season ended last week. OHS players, parents, and fans did the same. I was so glad to see them come out and brave the freezing cold when they could have just as easily sat home and listened to it. :)
