This is the 5th time in 10 years that Union has played Jenks in the 6A Oklahoma state championship. Earlier this year Union beat Jenks in overtime 43-42. Both are ranked in the top 25 nationally.

Anyone have any predictions?

Yeah, these two going at it again...Seems like they always play and it's always a big crowd and OT type game...I have no idea in who wins...I guess I'd take Jenks this time...

I thought that it would have pretty easy to have a red river shootout with those OK teams and some good dfw area teams.

I was at that game in September.... I think it was the best game that I've seen so far this year...... I think Jenks should win it though... they lost last time because of a blocked extra point in overtime. That was a crazy atmosphere though that rivals a good Texas football game. We basically didn't sit down after Halftime. It should be a good game this time around too.....

I'm ol' Tulsa boy myself.

Did you see that special they had on TV a couple months ago? Highlighted the Jenks/Union game from a couple years back. Went into OT. A real nail biter! It was an hour special. Don't remember the channel.

I have always known about Jenks and Union, but had never really paid that much attention to them until the documentary on Verses. What a great atmosphere. Two great teams with outstanding coaches and the fan support was amazing. This is what high school football is all about. It's no wonder that this rivalry was picked as the best ever. And to think that these two schools are only about five miles apart. I can picture the different stickers on the backs of the pick up trucks around town. Simply Awesome!

Union's first year coach has certainly worked out better than last year's first year coach. It would be sweet for him to go undefeated.

I have attended many Jenks Union games but alas the last 3 years I am now a Katy Tiger. My daughter was a soccer player at Jenks and my son grew up as a Trojan until me moved. He now is a Katy Tiger. I can tell you this about the rivalry it is better and bigger than any I have ever witnessed in high School sports. It is not just Football but every sport they play both boys and girls is an all out rivalry. These teams seem to dominate almost all the sports in both boys and girls every year in the State of Oklahoma.

In most years one of these teams is the spoiler of the others in Football. I predict Jenks will win and spoil the undefeated season at Union. My son has talked with many of the players this year and Jenks players want to settle the score for 1 point loss in the preseason.

Promises to be a great game and these games both in preseason as well as for the State final normally have 30,000 t0 40,000 fans and played normally at TU.

By the way Katy reminded both my son and I of Jenks and that is why we are at Katy now when we moved.

I can assure all the paperwork from 3 years ago was in order. But I will tell you this when a Company changed it's corpoarte HQ from Tulsa to Houston Jenks and Union lost sevral upcoming ball players in many sports both boys and girls to the Houston area. I know of several of them playing for Cinco, Seven Lakes, Taylor, Cy Fair, etc. The paperwork in this State for transfers was quite through and needed the AD signature and coach from their respective schools. Our was Jenks and before my son could practice we jumped through hoops to get the paperwork in. I figured the Texas boys didn't play nice with each other so big brother had to create a paperwork nightmare to discourage recruiting.

Zac Herrin returned a punt 18 yards for a Td. (yes you heard right Tress Way from Union made a 3 yard punt and Jenks Player herrin scooped it up and ran it in with about 1 minute left in the half.

I watched another Jenks vs. Union football championship game on television last Saturday.

Union won 12-6 in OT.

Oh yeah. It was a replay of the Tulsa area third grade championship game. That's right, third grade was being televised on a local Tulsa channel.

That rivalry starts early. It's no wonder it's the nation's best.
