In all, ACU set or tied an incredible 82 records during the 2007 season.

Among the many records, ACU became the first Division II team in NCAA history to have a 3,500-yard passer (Billy Malone), 2,000-yard rusher (Bernard Scott) and a 1,000-yard receiver in the same season. And, just to make it more impressive, the Wildcats had two wideouts -- Johnny Knox and Abilene High grad Jerale Badon -- hit the 1,000-yard mark.

Scott's 39 touchdowns are a Division II record. So are his 35 rushing scores and 234 points scored.

ACU set conference records in total yards (7.082), points scored (639) and kicking points (115). Malone, who still has one year remaining, now holds the LSC's career records for passes completed (635); completion percentage (.618); yards passing (8,799); yards passing per game (266.6); and total yards per game (267.2).

Badon holds the conference career reception record (235) and receiving yards record (3.311).

Everyone save Badon on that list comes back. Our offense will, if anything, be more high-powered next year.

Can Thomsen put even a semblance of a defense on the field? If he can, ACU should be a legit top ten team next year. ACU's D this year was worse than Tech's. If it had been able to put up even a little bit of a fight, ACU would be looking at a regional championship.

I'm still thrilled with ACU's progress under Thomsen, and I hope he'll stick around a bit longer. Next season we should again challenge for the LSC. Hopefully, we'll make a longer PO run next year.
