Up 34-0 at half. UT recruit, Chykie Brown, runs back a 94 yd. opening kickoff to the second half and the clock never stopped after that. All 2's and 3's in the second half that went very quickly. Kinda sad for a varsity football game!!!

I love the wins but it's hard for me to enjoy these district games. At least NS is winning like they are supposed to. If they did not rack up the points on these teams I would be concerned. Crunch time is not far away. We'll see how good they are then.

Am I the only one that ends up rooting for the other team just to get first downs so that we don't have more oppurtunities to score in these game slike this? Last night I actually did something very uncharcteristic for me by leaving at half time. I just knew the way the first half had gone things were only goign to get worse from there on out. I'm really hoping Deer Park turns it up next week as they always do when playing us and gives us some kind of game. At least maybe a game where we have to play the starters at least two and a half quarters would be really nice. May be just maybe next year when realignment is done we get moved into a district where there will be someone to push us. Sure would make a lot of sense to put us in a district with say the Humble and Spring schools and maybe Lee at least we would get some competion from Westfield and maybe Humble.

If I were a fan of the Mustangs I would be enjoying the dominance it has shown the past few years in this district. I would also consider thanking La Porte for funding the beautiful stadium Galena Park residents enjoy, instead of showing your arrogance by making such posts.

Overreact much?
Nothing said above by the NS fans is false. I think some Shore fans are a little bored/frustrated because their team isn't getting any weaknesses exposed in a district that's weak compared to the rest of the state. I'm not calling the rest of the 23-5A schools trash or that everyone who goes to those schools is horrible, but from a strictly football point of view 23-5A is nothing more than the North Shore Invitational.
I think about every Mustang fan enjoys the success, but at the same time, they want to see their team prepared for the playoffs. It's tough to get battle tested when you only play one team on your schedule (The Woodlands) that has a realistic possibility of even going beyond the second round. Normally, Elsik and Hastings can put up a decent fight but both are way down this year.
North Shore fans are experienced enough to know that they'll need to play a four quarter football game to get where they want to go, but unfortunately that's not going to happen until playoff time. It's easy to get bored as a fan when you are playing games you know will be over by halftime. North Shore has played two quarter football games, for the most part, during the regular season now for four straight seasons. Their last regular season loss was in 2001!
However, the players must prepare and execute every game like it's the playoffs. One thing North Shore does get to do during these blowouts is keep everyone fresh and build some depth in hopes that will pay off down the road when it's time to go four quarters again.

I didn't realize I was overreacting, but thanks for pointing it out to me KT. While your opinion of the posts entered by North Shore fans leans torwards them being "bored/frustrated", my opinion is that at least 2 of these posters are being arrogant.
But next time I will let you proof read my posts so that I can get your "OK" before I submit them.

I see no arrogance in any of these posts. North Shore right now is like a boxer who KO's everyone in the first round. That's not helping them. The Woodlands was a good test...but I would like to see them pushed to the limit before the playoffs. It's a no win situation...the starters score quickly and then you have to worry about them getting the reps and running up the score. A problem most teams would love to have.

No proof reading necessary Auggie. From your comments, it seems you have an axe to grind. Just my opinion on what you said above.

I don't see where your coming from on that one. Why should we thank La Porte for something it had nothing to do with? Are you saying that because some may work the refineries in La Porte mean La Porte provided the money or am I missing something here.
If my comments seemed arrogant in any way I can tell you it is not intended by no means. All we are trying to say it is very easy to get bored when you know your going to win every game by atleast 40 points or more before the season even starts. With the schedual we played this year as KT and the others said our starters have off the field by early second quarter. The only game they had to play more than that was against Woodlands. As KT said we just want to know our team is battle ready come Playoff time.

If "Telling it like it is" is arrogant - so be it. But I think N.S. fans are the least arrogant fans on this forum.
I was at the game last night and quite frankly South Houston was so overmatched it was unbelieveable. N.S. could have scored over 100 - if they had a mind to. I think the team lost interest toward the end of the 1st quarter when it was 14-0. This is what N.S. fans are afraid of - the team losing a competitive edge - false security - that they will always be able to score big and often. Not that being confident is bad - but you have to realize - The Pearlands and Westfields will be coming up and confidence is not enought - you need mental stamina as well. This is what we want them to have and what they will need against good defenses. And right now N.S is just not getting the needed exercise in mental stamina/toughness. It's just too easy.
Go Astros....

Fair enough. I guess I did overreact to comments I considered "arrogant". If everyone on this thread sees it one way, and I see it another, then I won't be stubborn enough that I won't admit I was wrong.
North Shore is in a league of their own when it comes to district 23-5A.
