How are things looking under the new coach? What can be expected for next year?

Do you have connections to Itasca or just like the name?

As far as returning starters go, I know we graduated a lot from a mediocre team, talent in the sub varsity systems has been good over the last few years. What I have heard from the new coach, is you can expect some creativity on offense. You will see the maroon and white throw the football this year, which will be something to get used to, so finding a QB will be difficult, the team will be quick but not big, I think you can expect a overall better team this year than last, and a team that should compete for a playoff spot, the freshman team this past year had a impressive season and should contribute some athletes to the varsity level this year. It wont be as strong a team as you saw throughout the 90's and early into this decade, but it will be much improved. I am going to try to catch the spring game next thurs night, with school and work I have not been able to catch any practices but will attend the spring game to see what we do have coming up.

It was a little odd when I was in town a few weeks ago for the Mavs game. I stopped at the Taco Bueno for a free crispy taco and I looked up to see the water tower talking about Lewisville winning state in 1993 and 1996, the last at the expense of Judson.

The water tower has been the symbol of our city over the last 12 years, in my mind should have at least two more years added on that tower, but I will take the two. Some of my greatest memories were during the title run of 96 as it was the last year I got to see games with my father who past away in March of 97, I remember he told me we were lucky to get to see a team win state twice, and that I would never see another Lewisville team like the 96 team, being young and neive I didnt think anything about it, but his words have never been more true.

That's good enough for them. As bad as Judson got beat, it doesn't look like they deserved to be playing for a title in 1996, anyway.

Dont know what you mean by good enough for them, as far as Judson goes, the margin of victory has nothing to do with them being good enough to play for a title, you could have brought anyone in the state that year to play us and we would have beaten them bad, that year we were just that good.

Hey, Lewisville had a good team that year. Judson's quality of play is well-documented.

First off...man I wish we had a Taco Bueno in Coppell (we only got a taco bell)

Second off...I hate that tower...Every time I drive up through there, it reminds me that all the citys around where I live have a State Championship...Grapevine, Southlake, Denton, Lewisville, Irving (schools), Carrolton...ahhhhh It drives me crazy...

Third- Where is the Taco Bueno in Lewisville, i might just have to hit that up this week

It's right by Interstate 35. Take the exit right before you get to the water tower on the right since the Taco Bueno is right beside it. I don't remember the name.

All I knew was I had to find 2 Bueno's before I went home. I got a coupon at the Spurs game in April, but couldn't use it in SA since they don't have a Bueno. I thought it was fair for SA to give me a taco since the Spurs lost and gave up 100 points. After Game 5 of Houston I wanted to use both coupons and the 2nd stop was in Lewisville. The funny thing about getting 2 tacos after the game was that I ate 10 tacos from Taco Bell in Wichita Falls while driving to the game.

The Bueno in Lewisville is off of the Main Street Exit, go through the light and it is right next door to IHOP and the Holiday Inn Select, coming from Coppell it will be your next exit after Fox avenue.
