I still can't believe Oak Ridge scored 23 on KC - I mean, they could have scored 14 on LP's 3rd team D maybe. They only scored 3 based on a muffed punt gift.
I think TWHS is getting it together - and playing decent ball. The Highlanders take it handily unless their O completely disappears - 28-10.

Facts:
Collins started the 2nd string QB. They jumped out to 21 point lead. QB underthrew a curl and OR got an interception for TD.
2nd TD was 78 yard pass and run where defenders tripped each other.
Third TD was trick play after game was decided.
I think they had 4 first downs and 150 yards in 2 of the plays.
That being said, Collins had 3 or 4 Sophs playing last night, a back-up @ QB and are very thin at in all areas due to injuries. Woodlands can take the night off and worry about Lufkin.
Goodson had 11 touches all night for 185 yards. It is fun to watch the QB's getting so much yardage because 4 players key on Goodson and when he does get it, just enjoy the talent for what it is. He will have a great college career.
Fact is there will be nobody from this district going deep into the playoff. Lufkin and Woodz need more Offense, KF is the mystery team. They have the talent but may be missing something.

Thanks for the detail KC -- one of those games where the stats don't match the score.
I'll disagree with your playoff assessment right now. Lufkin has plenty of offensive firepower for the playoffs, and TWHS and KF could get it together for some kind of run. Lufkin can certainly get out of sync and look mediocre - and they can also score 28 points in 10 plays as they did last night against Klein in the 3rd qtr.

I hope your right, I am a KC booster first, a Klein ISD booster second, and a 14-5A booster third. I guess I keep looking at Westfield down the road here and that may not be fair.
I know Lufkins defense is awesome. I just think the offense has some questions. Dez is obviously the stud but they need others to step forward, which they may.I was at the game last year and spoke at length with our QB-Luke after that game. He took it real hard but the pressure that d put on him every play just caught up with him in the fourth qtr.
KC has Lufkin and Woodz at home and we all remember how a subpar Klein team handled Woodz last year (and really this year). It would have to take that kind of slip up for it not to be Lukfkin/Woodz/KF this year but that is why we play the games.

Hey speak for your own team.
Before the season Collins and KF were going to be the "teams to beat" in the district.
Everybody was expecting the Woodz to have a "rebuilding year". Well guess what? The Nation is building the "Big Mo" and this team is going deep into the playoffs. Because they have the D. Their O is going only improve with the new hot New Orleans import that can motor. (I know it's only Huntsville but Montague #1 had 11-213 3 TD)
Drabek and Smalls are back.
Finally, last night I think we found a QB. Deep down in the depth charts waiting for his turn. Dillon Pound, can flat out play! He can read the D. He get's rid of the ball. Sharp passes, he can throw the long ball. And he carries out his fakes. He has poise. And he distributes it evenly.
Don't get me wrong Parsons is the QB of the future. He just needs to get more reps and mature.
Collins, Conroe and the Purple People Eaters here we come....The "War in the Woods"

how was Kf a "team to beat" at the beginning... you guys claimed rebuilding but were still highly ranked in all the polls...

Which is the better of the Klein schools? Which one's mascot is the Golden Eagles?

Golden eagle is Klein Forest but since you mentioned it, Klein Oak is undefeated in 4A and slipped by Collins and killed Klein High.
I think KF is better of the 4.

There is a clear differnece between Lufkin and The Woodlands and the rest of the teams in this district. For the next few years no other teams are going to ahve a chance at a district title as long as these two teams are around.

Is it just me, or does it seem like when you have four guys keying on Goodson, you should try to run some different plays. That quarterback got hit over 30 times which is extremely high . Even though he is the backup and this was his first varsity start, he still looked a lot better than the other guy.
KC's offense will definately struggle against the Woodz and Lufkin no matter who starts. I would like to see them spread out the offense and throw a bit more just to keep the defense off Goodson so much. I smell trouble on Monday.
