looked like Power rangers.
I don't understand the purpose of this video. is it to impune the training ability of the US soldiers or make light of people that we are trying to persuade that the American way of life is better?
Personally, I thought it was weak.

We had a general who in charge of quite a bit of the training and equipping of Iraqi forces come lecture us earlier this semester. It was an informative talk, and he had a lot to say about the challenges they were facing in Iraq. He was telling us about how they would go out on patrol with their Iraqi compatriots on a 120 degree day in Baghdad.
You'd think that the Iraqis, who were used to it, would handle it better than US GIs, but that isn't the case. He was telling us that the Iraqis were at first dropping like flies, because the idea of physical training and culture just wasn't something they had over there. Virtually all of them smoked, and the idea of doing regular PT or exercise was just unheard of, even in the military. You didn't go out and exericise or work in the afternoon, you sat in the shade and enjoyed a cig, even in the army.
What he also said was that the officers and the recruits really took to the discipline and regime. They were just waiting for someone who had the knowledge and ability to implement it.
The point is, that was probably like the first time those guys had done a jumping jack in their lives. The first time they ever had any sort of real PT. This is a real challenge that out troops, and the Iraqis brave enough to risk their lives to join us are facing. It's too bad Iraq didn't come with a fully functioning military for us to use, but you work with what you've got.
