Plano has put up some impressive numbers this season. Can they power back and win the title?

Plano blew out 2 good teams in Rowlett and Allen.....and they still get no respect in the polls!
That's ok...they'll get plenty of upsets in the playoffs!
Go Wildcats......I like what I'm seeing!!

If PESH does not make the playoffs which is a strong possibility, then Plano most likely would play Trinity in the second round or if Carroll goes D1 it could be Wildcats/Dragons. Either way both matchups would be classic, to see Carroll and Plano on the same field of play druing the playoffs is what some of us old time football fans would love to see, on the other hand one of the best playoff games I ever saw came in 93 When a 13-0 Trinity team got eliminated by Plano 12-0. So the chances to upset someone in the playoff will be there for Plano
I also agree that they are getting no respect in the polls, but that all changes come playoff time when you can prove the doubters wrong. This is one Farmer who is excited to see Plano enjoying success once again.

Beating a team from 7-5a probably won't be an upset this year. That district is weak this year as compared to last year when they were one of the strongest in the state.

SLC will be Plano's hardest opponent if they do end up playing each other. If they can pull it off I won't feel so bad being blown out by them. But if we can't beat SLC, maybe Plano can. I highly doubt Grapevine will make the playoffs this year so if PESH can manage getting into the playoffs then I see SLC and Allen playing in the second round again this year.

Hate to say it(well not really) but I agree with you there this year 7-5a is down.

plano is good, that is for sure....ET or SLC in the second round is not good, that is for sure....but then again 11-1 makes a good shirt...just don't put your scrimmages on there please... :D :D :D :D :D

Plano can win a title. They will have a hard road to a title, but I like what I hear (Since I can't see them!) They will be a hard team to beat next month.

I went to that game in Waco. Plano pretty much controlled that game against the eventual state champion Lufkin Panthers, despite not really being that great that year. I am still not sure how they lost.

reggie may have had some hand in it.

Yes, I was gonna mention the fact the Reggie made a few plays out of nothing and that was pretty much why they won. Plus, a couple of coaching blunders (I couldn't be talking about Brence, could I?) hurt bigtime.

Lufkin was a team of destiny that year. They had some close calls in the playoffs and came out on top in each of them. I dont think anyone could have denied the Panthers that year, maybe the Skeeters but thats it. Both those teams were destined to win a state title in 01.

it wouldn't be the first time that someone has accused him of similar behavior.

I remember the 01 game on that cool night in Waco. Plano controlled the ball most of the game but would get stopped in the red zone. I also remember a kicker from Plano, who now kicks for some college team with maroon uniforms, missed a couple of critical field goals for the Wildcats. Whereas the Lufkin kicker made his opportunities.
Then there was the Reggie factor. Also that year Lufkin had the ability to put points on the board in a hurry with big plays.
However, if Pegram had made those FGs there might have been a different outcome.

Funny thing is Pegram was at that game, but he was wearing a tshirt eating nachos at the concession stand. He played for Plano West, not Plano.
I do remember standing next to him at the concession stand while he talked to somebody about going to A&M.
Although I think Allen is a little down this year, the fact that they beat Allen 45 - 7 - which has a good program . . . I think the answer is YES . . . they're baacckk!! Personally, I am glad to see them back . . . we (Lobos) have a long relationship with Plano.

Well then my bad! I don't know why my son and I have spent the last 3 years with that misconception. I stand corrected. :o

My Senior year in 86 we beat Longview at Texas Stadium in the quartefinals 17-12. Hard fought win. Nothing like winning a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP your Senior year.

My Senior year in 86 we beat Longview at Texas Stadium in the quartefinals 17-12.
I was living in Shreveport that year. I could barely get that game on my car radio on a Longview station, but it was very staticy and going in and out, more out than in. I drove down I-20 towards Longview until I could get it clearly on my radio. I sat in my car, I think somewhere after Marshall, and listened to the rest of the game.
My senior year was '84 ('83 season). Plano lost in the semis to Midland Lee, who had Tyrone Thurman and some other little fast guy. I thought we had one of our better teams that year, but those two guys were too fast for us.

I have been to 3 wildcat games this year and they are indeed back. My dad has been following the cats since he can remember and says this may be the best Plano team he's seen!!!! Guess we'll find out in the playoffs.
From what I've seen of Southlake I wonder if the RB Jordan or QB Sfikas can run on them like they have everyone else. Jordan is the quickest back I can remember there. But SLC looks BAAAADD this year. I'm still praying for that game to happen. :D

SLC bad? I think not. They were probably better last year but they're certainly not bad. As for SLC being in division 1, I don't think it's gonna happen. If PESH can sneak their way into the 3rd playoff spot then Plano will face Carroll in the 2nd round in division 2.

btw, Allen needs a new stadium. ;)

Gotcha ;) . I would love to see SLC vs. Plano too. I think it would be really close. As far as a new stadium for Allen, I read some article in a newspaper about us getting a new one but that was 2 years ago and they haven't started on it yet. No one who has been to Eagle Stadium really likes it including Allen fans. I remember at the Plano and Allen game the announcer saying that if people parked in the nearby Blockbuster that their car was towed. I felt a little sorry for anyone who did that b/c it wasn't their fault, there's just no parking at the freshman center.

I am glad to see Plano back. The game against East will be a good indication of how REAL they are. East will be the underdog but with their new QB, they are moving the ball well. EAST has a questionable secondary which got torched by Flower Mound tonight.
The big game at Clark Stadium will be fun this year and they should fill all 14000+ seats for the big rivalry game. Plano may break the 7 year losing streak to East.
Oh, and I think East will take Allen this year.

The "reason" they lost is playing QB at A&M.....
