And from the looks of last game against College Park, that doesnt seem as far fetched ;). Leander has done a solid job shutting down deul threat qbs, but Hales and robinson do scare me.

Unfortunately, there is also Ossam Cook that you guys have to worry about. And the other half of the dual threat qb, Wes Theiss. The scary part about it is Robinson might be faster than Hales.

I'm certain that Leander has played some talented teams along the way this season, but they should make sure they pack their track spikes with this match up. A lot of teams at this point of the year possess a top play maker in their offense. NO ONE possess TWO like KO does! From a KF fan that got to witness what having to stop two guys like Robinson & Hales does to you, GOOD LUCK versus Leander! Represent 16-5A to the fullest!

Leander lions will come out doing both running and throwing the football. The Leander defense will tighten up . Look for Leander to win 41-31 , with klein oak having some dropped punts and kickoffs. High school football gotta love it.:notworthy:notworthy:notworthy:notworthy

Hopefully you guys are not counting on this for your game plan. It would be wise not to kick to DHales. If you do punt to him you need to get out of that tight punt formation because you will have a hard time trying to catch him. I am just warning you. I have seen this kid change the game because some stupid coach punted the ball to him. Kick it out of bounds and play defense.

There's no way we would kick to Desean Hales. I can guarantee pooch punting all night.
#2
I'm sure Klein Oak is a fast team, but in Leander's 3-3-stack defense, they've got all their speed on the field at once, and we've done a solid job against faster teams this year. Thats what the defense is designed for.
#3
I predict Reggie Hodges rushing for 200+ yards for the 3rd consecutive week.

Excuse me but there arent any teams faster than Oak's offense. Klein Forest was 2nd in state in track and Hales ran off and left everyone at the district meet. Hodges can rush for 300 yards and Leander will still lose by 14. Sorry to have to break it to you that way. I know it hurts;)

I just got done watching Leander's defensive game film. We should have no problem beating them on the offensive side of the ball.(I'll watch the D film tomorrow.)
Leander doesn't play teams like KF,WF, and Klein like Klein Oak does, There's no way they're prepared for our speed.
If they shut down T-Rob we got Desean if they stop him then we got Ossam Westfield was the only team that was able to contain them, and we all know Leander is no Westfield.
KO by 18
P.S-I'll say again. I don't know about football speed with a ball but on the track both Ossam and T-Rob ARE FASTER THAN DESEAN HALES.

Dang, GMan! I can relate...we oughta start a club!:D Quick is deadly but Klein Oak does have a passing game that a lot of people tend to overlook. Tight defenses tend to get loose when they have Desean and Robinson catching a open field pass. #18 for Klein Oak has probably the best hands I have seen all year. What I like the most about the last game was Klein Oak laying the wood on CP. I know at least three players that were in the 4th dimension after Klein Oak layed the wood on em! Nope, not the same Klein Oak that Garland handled last year. DeSean is another year better, Ossam was only a sophomore last year, and T-Rob was on the sidelines because of the transfer rules. Might sound kind of silly to say after giving up 42 to College Park, but the 2007 defense is much better than the 2006 version. Oak 34 - Leander 17

I have often wondered this myself. I did happen to speak with a guy (at the KF game) who's kid has trained with the same running coach that has worked with Desean, Terrance and Nick Sampson (Westfield). He says Terrance has a "tad" quicker acceleration but Desean wins in the 40 and pulls slightly away the longer the race.

This is very true, but i assure you, we have enough depth on our "unbattle tested slow team" that we don't have to worry about starting anybody thats blind  (that smiley is summpsed to represent how Leander fans are feeling about this game right now, not a blind joke). Or is it that Klein has 2 or 3 reincarnations of Superman? Cause if that's the case, why not just leap to the endzone like you were jumping over a tall building in a single bound.
On a serious note, When we played Copperas Cove in 06 they were 10-0 and ranked #5 in the state and i don't even think i heard their fans completely look past us. This is a first, but its something i gotta get used to. I just figured it would come from a SLC or a Lufkin, or a Katy. I'm sure yall will be ready, but trust me Gideon will have Leander ready to give KO all they can handle.

I am hoping your defense is better that CP, Oak's D needs a rest! I bet they were on the field 90% of the time. Oaks offense scored too quickly as soon as they were on the field 10 seconds later they were off. Look forward to the game!

I am looking forward to a great game and understand that it has to be won on the filed not here on the boards. This is not the "same" team as last year as the O is much faster and productive and don't let the 42 that got put up by CP fool you -- the D is MUCH better---faster and they will bring the pop as well. Should be fun; we will "Come Get Some" Friday at SHSU.

Lookie hear It don't matter how fast you are when Leander meets you at the line of scrimmage and puts a pop on you
First you have to find who has the ball out of Desean, T-Rob, or Ossam, once you've done that if it's not to late and they haven't burnt past the D, you have to try and get a hand on them which is nearly impossible when you're talking about #3 and #7, And with Ossam you better have some fast and strong person if you're trying to take him down.
Do that for 4 quarters straight and you win. Good luck:D

Oak's got some great talent, but sometimes that's not all there is to it.
Coaches Gideon, Broussard, Williams, and Co. do a great job each week vs great athletes. Leander's kids have an uncommon work ethic. Nothing different this week... We'll see what happens.

If the "eye test" for ability's sake were the only thing that decided football games, then I would agree with the assessment that the Lions are going to have some problems. However, Coaches Gideon, Broussard, Williams, and Co. seem to figure out a way to get Leander's smaller kids to outwork and outscheme bigger, faster talent on a regular basis. (See Pflugerville, Bryan, A&M Consolidated, Round Rock, etc) I wouldn't underestimate Leander if I were Oak. It should be an exciting ballgame. The weather could be a factor, too.
The weather could be a factor for Leander not Oak. Leander relies on their passing game to make big plays, as was the case last week against Ellison. #85 caught a couple of huge passes to carry them on. I think that was his first varsity game if I am not mistaken and he did a heck of a job. #88 was out and #85 did a good job of filling #88 role of making big plays. KO is a grind it out team and will break one to the house at any time. So if the weather does play a role it is against Leander and not Oak. I agree it will be a great football game.

Its about match-ups and Leander wont outscore Oak. Oaks defense is not close to the other three playoff teams from this district but the skill positions are dazzling. When a speed defense like Westfield matches up, Oaks run will be over. LONGVIEW??
I expect at least a 3-1 weekend from 165a

Did you not do this same thing last year during KO's run. You came in and said Oak's run will end this week and it did not. What's with you Collin's people. Support the district for once. They would if you were in the play-offs. Dadgummit what is the deal. You don't have a clue what Longview has or if they will even beat SG. (BTW I think SG wins that game.) Then you come in here and say oh yea Leander can't match up but by the way Oaks defense is horrible and there run will end against Longview. Brilliant post! What else would you expect from KC Tigger!

If there is bad whether for the game, i think this plays into both teams favor IMO as neither team is a passing team. Leander can put together drives with several passes (Eric Massoni has somewhere around 1400 yards passing) but Reggie Hodges (#5) is our workhorse. And although Massoni isnt the duel threat that "T-Rob" is, but he has a 200 yard rushing game under his belt when teams have keyed on Hodges.
LEander has NO answer for OAK. Dont expect them to score more than 14. Oak could top last weeks score by 14. so the final will be...
Leander 10
Oak 63
Off to play Longview.
What part of your "stellar" defense thinks you can hold Leander to a mere 10 pts? again, its a good thing the game is played on the field and not off of a message board. Or else MidLineOption73 would have already led Oak to round 3. I sure hope the KO players have that type of mentality (and i'm sure they don't), because then it will be Oak that will most definitely be in for the long game. Take a page out of Bill Bellicheck's (sp?) book, and take a piece of that humble pie. Because the way some of you KO fans are making this out, it seems like ya'll haven't been a winning team for very many years.

My post had nothing to do with bad weather?????????
Anyways, if you plan on beating KO, then your team better be prepared to score on at least 90% of their drives. I know you know how easily we can put up points, how many TD's did we have against CP that was on the first play of the drive?

I thought it was funny...Sorry, yes it was Tombstone..Coach Smith kinda looks like Kurt Russell (Wyatt Earp)..here is the link to the quote: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqOEDvMAoDs
HA!! Tombstone is one of my favorite movie's and now that you mentioned it, I remember that line. Sorry, My bad.
Good Luck to Leander. Bring em hell...

T-Rob was caught by CP player from behind last week which surprised everyone.
...and by a white boy no less. Who was that DB from CP that ran him down? That was impressive.
I was shocked to see that. Maybe he was just gassed from all those long runs? ;)

I think his name was Trey Diller, #11, College Park Cavalier senior.
I was more impressed with the young QB that stepped in for his cousin and kept the game going. Taylor or Tyler Parsons, I believe. He was a sophomore and should be quite a help to the Cavs team next year.

T-Rob was tired from getting the ball 80% of the time, lol. I hear that in most games in the locker room in halftime he's tired like crazy.

I'm sure Leander is aware by now that the KO D gave up 42 pts to a typically ball control offense, while led by the JV quarterback. If Leander's backs can get outside, KO are vulnerable out there. More so than between the tackles. I suggest the Leander defense work extra hard on tackling drills this week. You can get to the speedsters. It's bringing them down at or behind the LOS that's tough. Once they're in the secondary, it's goodnight Irene.
Hold the Oak offense down to under 40 and you win.

Correct on Diller, CP WR. He's not a 'white boy DB' like Spartan reffered to him earlier. He got the ethnicity correct though. He was put in on Defense late in the 4th.
It's Taylor Parsons JV QB. The funny thing is there is actually another player on the JV team named Tyler Parsons.

Isn't it just amazing that any team could "give up" 42 points and still have beaten the "fightin College Park Cavaliers" by 17 points?:D

Couldn't figure that one out myself. But full credit to your offense. I sure as heck am not going to blame it on some conspiracy theories like you guys 'bribing the refs'.
Haven't seen Leander this year. Not sure if they'll get beaten if you guys end up giving up 42 again. I suggest you concentrate on them.

I heard the same thing about CP from some friends at Klein Oak. I was not at the game so I can't comment on the refs..was it that bad?

I think I'll let the team concentrate on Leander. I'll just continue to offer my support and encouragement to the Klein Oak Panther football team and to the entire 16-5A district moving forward into Round 2 of the play-offs.;)

You need to ask the conspiracy theorists that seem to be all over Klein based on your post. If anything, any questionable calls went Oak's way. But the best team won and I'll just leave it at that.

Trey Diller! Fastest white boy I have seen. I don't think T was running his fastest. Looked like he was just coasting and was very surprised to see Trey looking over him. First time I have ever seen him caught from behind. He sure wasn't expecting anyone to be there.

First time Oak has faced purely option team! They did not bring the db in for support. KO is usually very good on outside when rb or qb only is running. I could not believe after scouting CP that they did not know how to handle option. First half # 24 for KO was trying to tackle everyone, second half he stayed with the rb like he was suppose to on option. No db support. That qb from CP was very fast himself. He is going to be a good one.

I watched him against Westfield. The Westfields secondary looked at each other like deer stairing at headlights. That kid is fast as well. Both CP and The Woodlands look to field a very solid team next year.

Puzzles me as well! You know those kind of games where everything goes wrong and the big Mo never gets behind you? I believe that momentum builds by teams including coaches doing the right things all week and for that matter all year. Westfields coaching staff had their team "pumped" for the KO game. KO was ranked third in area and Westfield had everything to gain with a win against KO. Westfield played a near perfect game against KO. Everyone was doing their assignments. KO was flat! Did not hit anyone, and certainly did not block. Westfields defensive and offensive lines are massive. College type or near Pro type size with attitudes to match. KO should have scored in first half but fumbled... one of their few. After second half 4th and goal Big Mo just left. Hats off to Westfield. I believe that the loss helped KO get re-focused on what it takes to win. Good luck to Westfield as well on overcoming adversity earlier in the year and getting back on track.

I have been to every Oak game and agree with your assesment -- sometimes you get kicked and you can't get up from it. I do believe that we deferred the kick and should have taken the ball; also if we don't fumble (bad call!) and we covert the field goal then it is 17-10 at the half and maybe a different game. But woulda-coulda-shoulda does not win games. Oak really needed the D to play the way they did againt Forest. Also, Westfield did a GREAT job of tackling (with tremendous team speed) and once they got a hold of Hales or TRob there was no letting go.

Not sure how Leander travels, though I hope they travel well as a good crowd makes for an even better game. I really enjoyed the time I saw Lufkin play Woodlands at Moorehead (Lane's Sr. year at Lufkin)---great crowd!!

I told you leander was going to get klein oak. it happend just like I said. Great game by both teams. Leander will run the ball on you and if they stall in the red zone # 30 frank "the tank" will take into the end zone for you. It is a team thang. Imagine if they would have had #1 blake , # 5 reggie , # 2 Massoni and # 30 frank in the back field at the same time .
