Ya its got to be Garner. Hes running for 100 a game and throwing a 100 a game. Doin the best so far.

Garner without a doubt. Teams are not able to concentrate on him with the supporting cast around him.

either belton's Quincy or Brent from cove, Ross from temple would have had the chance say he staid RB

The thing is Garner will probably pull it out cause Cove will win district. He really does carry this team offensively. Cove has always had mobile quarterbacks. IF we didnt teams could focus more on certain things but now brent can drop back and run a draw for 40 yds. Hes a big threat

If Quincy Daniels does in fact rush for over 2000 yards (which it looks like he probably could) he SHOULD get it just because of the accomplishment alone. Brent Garner will get it because hes from Cove and they will win district, and its not like thats a bad pick or anything he is very deserving, but i just can't picture a guy rushing for 2000 yards and not being named his own district mvp. The only time i EVER saw this happen was when Mike Kern from leander rushed for 2300 yards, but Myron Hardy from McNeil rushed for somewhere around that amount of yards, but more tds.

MVP is Most Valuable Player. How can you be Most Valuable Player if your team is not winning?? He may be offensive player of the year for the stats but not MVP.

our wide reciever Detron Lewis

LeanderLions3033
10-12-2005, 06:46 PM
He does but he got switched to wide reciever and hasnt cracked the 2 deep yet. Hes a hell of an athlete though. Thats impressive that yall shut him down somewhat though, because i dont know if anybody (and i do mean anybody) that season kept him under 150 yards rushing. That was our only regular season loss and he burned us for 280 yards  . And think about the term MVP. Most valuable player, mostly to your team. Would Belton even win a game this year without Daniels? You can't say the same about Cove and Garner. Did playing for a bad team keep Ricky Williams from winning the Heisman? Did playing for a bad team keep A-rod from winning MVP when he was on the Rangers? Theres no such thing as a one man team in football, if you got a guy that is putting up those kid of numbers as a running back, on a team that probably wont make the playoffs then thats not his fault. Hes doing all that he can to help his team. I'm not saying that Garner wont get it, he will most likely, but if Quincy Daniels continues to perform like he has been, i think he is just as much if not more deserving than Garner.

Keep in mind, this is just my humble opinion.

Perhaps you are right but if you rush for 2000 yards and your team only wins 2 games, how does that make you mvp? Makes you offensive player of the year. That is like leading the league in scoring in the NBA but your team misses the playoffs. Does that make you NBA MVP or scoring champ? Just my opinion as well. Who is most valuable to their team guy who leads his team to victory or guy who plays great but the team loses? Like I said just my opinion. Still games left to be played we shall see.

Undisputedly gardner, i find this without disscusion. lets break down m.v.p.-MOST VALUEABLE PLAYER. Take gardner away from cove they MAY already have 2 loses, take beltons RB away they miss the playoffs, just like they will with him. with or with out him they miss the playoffs, they may win a few more games but i consider a miss playoff season as a failure.

Not so fast cove. Whenever yall play either Leander or Pflugerville, depending on who wins the game in a few weeks, it will be a good game. Trust me.

It would seem the fans are skipping the first and second rounds already ,I don't think the team is though.

dunno, but for heights i would have to say GROTHE. although he hasnt been with us all year, and his is not perfect, he comes through we we need, he has made the kicks under pressure, and he kicks the ball out of th end zone giving us the momentum, and keeping our special teams off the field and not letting them get a big run. plus the two kicks he missed have been from 50 and 55 yards, and he wasnt short, it was wide, so he has a great foot.
 CAN YOU DIG THAT SUCKA

This is going to sound strange, but AMC's Matt Symanzski (however it's spelled) should be in the running. His punting avereage is insane. His kickoffs often sail between the opponents goal posts, very few are returnable. His Field Goal accuracy is pretty good.

Hard to mention a special teamer as an MVP, but he deserves a nod. I'm glad he's only a Jr. Already committed to TAMU.
