some confusion. Klein Oak won. So assuming Leander won it would be Leander v Klein Oak
CP played reasonably well. Oak was certainly the better team today. I expected a big offensive performance and we got one. I believe the last touchdown was by Crittendon, a Sr who has been a big part of CP football for three years.
To the Football team it has been a great ride. My son is a Sr Drummer in the band,.... It has been great, all the best .. and all the best to Oak in the playoffs

Just got back from this game.
KO had all kinds of problems with CP's I-formation option offense, corners could never get off their blocks and so the TB #22 for CP ran wild all night long.
Still, the Panthers made some plays on defense, at least enough to stop them a few times, and KO's offense scored pretty much at will.
Hales #3 scored four times, two on deep pass receptions and two on running plays. He probably only touched the ball 8 or 9 times all day and scored four TDs.
KO's QB #7 might even be faster than Hales if that's possible.
I wouldn't want to be a defensive coordinator trying to figure out how to stop Klein Oak. Impressive offense. My sense is that their defense is better than they showed today, they were just befuddled by an old-style option offense.
Very entertaining, nice crowd, great bands, etc. The KO crowd cheered loudly when the KF / Lufkin result was announced. Happy to have Lufkin removed from the Region II bracket.
CP had a great year and a fine team, but defensively they were no match at all for Klein Oak's speed.

#7(Terrance Robertson) is indeed faster than Desean, so is #22 Ossam Cook but you never really get to see him run full speed. The 4th fastest was a backup safety who quit and our 5th Fastest is #45 the Cornerback who caught an INT. They all run under a 4.4 40(hand timed)

Yep we were happy that they were defeated by a team that we beat, but KF is alot better now that they got their #1 Receiver back.

CP starting QB Josh Parsons had to come out of the game early in 1st qtr. Both backup and emergency QB not available through injury. JV QB Taylor Parsons (soph) had to play. He did very well. CP was forced into a scoring fest. It was not a good situation with your starting QB out. Turnovers killed us.
But the real story was Robinson, Hales and Cook. They could not be stopped. Best team on the day won.
Congrats to all 16-5a teams. Way to rep your district.

WOW, the CP quarterback was from the JV?? He was awesome. I was impressed enough that a backup sophomore was running the option as well as he did, but the fact that he is actually the JV QB is amazing. The QB spot should be in good hands the next couple of years at CP.
Great game by both teams. I think Oak scoring as quickly as they did actually hurt their defense almost as bad as it hurt CP. I wonder what the time of possession was - definately hugely in CP favor.
Next up Leander (I hope they don't run the option).

Yes he really stepped up. Nice post Oak Dad. Just wanted to let the Oak fans know that there are no excuses. You flat out outplayed us. Are Robinson and Cook seniors? I know Hales is. Good Luck the rest of the way.

Robertson is a Senior but because of UIL rules he couldn't play Varsity last year.
Cook is only a junior.
We have some more junior/sophmore weapons that no one has seen because of Robertson and Hales stealing the show. But they'll have their chance next year

haha yeah our starting qb got a concussion on the 2nd play and was out for the rest of the game. His cousin taylor comes in being the next qb as out back up broke his hand last week and our emergancy was out. It was a good game but its hard to win if you defence can't stop that speed.

CPdad as stated 165A is just a level up this year, but I expect 155A to be a major force next year with all the juniors they have playing.
Best of luck to all.

OK Houston Boy - You are one of the biggest KO Panther supporters on this board. - If we are going to complain about Klein being spelled wrong by the LP fans, lets at least get our own players names correct - TERRENCE ROBINSON is his name.
