I see that they have an athletic qb. What other threats do they have?

None.
They're from Pasadena ISD. PISD schools only have one good athlete per year.

The QB is a running threat. He is very talented and has good running field vision. Very fast and elusive in the open. He broke a couple on NS but thanks only to our secondary speed they were able to catch him from behind. Not great at throwing and has mediocre receivers. They have no defense to speak of. Their coach has done a remarkable job with the team.

South Houston is a decent team, at best. I'd put them on par with, maybe, Galveston Ball. They have a few solid athletes, but their team-play is average. Their only losses are to Clear Lake, Deer Park, Pasadena Memorial and NS. As far as threats, their QB accounts for 2300 of their 3000 total yds and 23 of their 30 total tds. It does appear, with a 58% completion percentage, that he can actually complete a few passes.
Other threats? None, really. If I'm West brook, I'm not losing a ton of sleep over SoHo. (Though I wouldn't be overly confident.) I predict West Brook to win, 31-21.

Bingo!!!! Then again, offensively, they can also get way too dependent on QB-Howell.

Neither do I. TGO is giving them a little too much credit. Then again, they did hold PMS to only 27 points....

Actually, I looked at a common opponent, in deciding this point outcome.
Both teams played Baytown Sterling:
West Brook
Allowed 21 pts to be scored in the 1st half of the game.
Pts forced vs Sterling - 47 (21 in 1st half of the game/21-21 tie)
Total yds gained - 369
Total yds allowed - 316
2 WB td's were due to interception return and kickoff return.
1 BS td was due to fumble return.
WB's offense forced 31 pts.
BS's offense forced 14 pts.
WB - 4 turnovers
BS - 1 turnover
South Houston
Allowed 3 pts to be scored in the 1st half of the game.
Pts forced vs Sterling - 33 (6 in 1st half of game/6-3 lead)
Total yds gained - 206
Total yds allowed - 308
1 SH td was due to interception return.
SH's offense forced 26 pts.
BS's offense forced 16 pts.
SH - 1 turnover
BS - 3 turnovers
Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me to see SH score 7-10 pts in trash time. I assume WB will have scored, at least, 28 pts heading into the 4th qtr.

SOHO - no defense?
I disagree the defense is good. The real problem is against good defenses the SOHO offense cannot produce leaving the defense on the field for most of the game and in bad situatrions to defend.

I think what is being said is this: Against teams with winning records...
Allowed 38 pts to Clear Lake
Allowed 27 pts to Pasadena Memorial
Allowed 42 pts to Deer Park
Allowed 45 pts to North Shore
Total average: 38 pts allowed per game
All 4 of those games they lost. And with the exception of Memorial, they averaged forcing 16 pts per game vs teams with winning records. (Memorial shut SoHo out.)
Not enough offense, when playing ranked opponents, and very little - to no - defense. It might sound odd, but IMO a team like Spring HS (5-5) would have a better chance of beating West Brook than SoHo (6-4).

SoHo is a nice story, but they are in for because La Porte had a down year after losing 3 year starting QB (Boogie) and their RB to Nebraska (actually played was not redshirted) and got off to a slow start. LP would be SoHo by 21 if they played today.
They will lose and lose BIG.

How can you say they'd surely beat SH by 21 pts, when they actually played (in Week 4) and LP lost by 7 pts to SH??

The quarterback is very athletic, Coleman (wr) was first team all district unanimous last year. The middle lineback Saurit is like 275 lbs runs a 4.6 and i believe he was 2nd team all district last year. The tackle Aguilar is the best lineman they have. There is a freshman defensive back that is damn good just cant remember his name. Oh and the punter lol he was 2nd team all district last year even though all his numbers were better than the punter on first team.

How can you say mediocre receivers? J. Coleman might just be the best in the district...he just doesnt get as many passes as last year!
