This game could have huge playoff implications, especially for the Dragons and what avenue they take. Who do you guys like?

I think many football fans are cheering for Grapevine!!

I am kinda torn, I would love to give all these D2 guys another shot, but SLC/ Euless cmon, who can resist wishing for that? I kinda want to go where Katy goes too, we owe them a little something. Whatever, I guess we will be happy whever we go. Time will tell!

Of course, even if Grapevine wins nothing is guaranteed yet. They could lose out and allow Fossil Ridge to make up the game difference, so I think that's important to remember also. However, SLC's D1 chances do get a nice boost if Gvine does win.

I think all of 6-5A is cheering for Grapevine here. I just don't think they are a playoff level team because in the scrimmage they were incredibly weak on both sides of the ball. Both of us run the same offense and defense, only difference they have been running it since 7th grade and we were more sharp.

If Grapevine loses, their chances look fairly slim. They still have games against Carroll and Heritage.

This should be a great game. I'll be cheering for gv, but I'll be at pennington watching the trojans go to work on the raiders. With SLC being the obvious number 1 in this district, DR is looking like a strong case for the number 2 spot. The 3 teams that seem to jump out for the 3rd spot are GV, Heritage and FR. Some thought Haltom might suprise a few, but they seem to have been a bit of a dissapointment. GV and FR already have 1 loss in district, but each is to a team that will likely be the number 1 and 2. With Heritage losing to FR, a GV win will provide a good reason for Trinity to start preparing for Carroll. Grapevine did look a little sloppy at the beginning of the year(saw them play against flowermound), but they are really shaping up. My prediction...

the magic number of wins is 5, which only fridge of the third place teams are likely to get. otherwise 4 wins guarantees a shot at tie breakers /coin flips for the po's. fridge(2-1) has the best shot at 4 as they have haltom and richland left. a win v gvine would cinch it for them if they take care of business. brent's loss has thrown haltom for a loop, and made them not very effective. keller will at best win vs the bisd schools. chhs and gvine are basically in the same boat. both have each other and a loss and a game they should win and one they need to win, so everyone vying can depend on themselves at this point. a win over dr or slc is an improbability, and would throw everything into turmoil.

I see Fossil Ridge doin it. They are stronger both ways and have been much more consistant. HOWEVER....anything can happen when it's all on the line. And that even goes if the chance comes for Trinity to face SLC. That should be a game that has historical implications. It is better for all if Ridge wins. This means more high quality teams in the mix.

I have no clue...and I'll be happy either way it goes.
However, if the Trinity/Carroll game does end up materializing, would it probably be on Thrusday night or Saturday (I'm assuming that it would be televised, and would be at Texas Stadium). I'd love a Thursday game or a Saturday afternoon game, because then I could actually attend.

the televising of hs football is in its infancy, and i doubt there is a way of predicting any but the finals. lots of factors go into the process. i'm betting the schools would lose money televising the game due to the loss of ticket sales. and since it'd be a last minute deal, who knows what negotiations would be involved.

Yes, We need a Fossil Ridge loss. I would love to see SL/Trinity game and then a 2nd round match hopefully of Plano vs SL. Old School vs upstarts. Plano beat Fossil by 40 in week three. I can't see them being the 3rd seed. No defense.

I think "upstarts" could hang with "old school" just fine...
