Louisiana update #3

For those with interest...Lets see....Playoffs already started here-last week...Got the 2nd round this week...Great time of year for the High School Fan!

5A-looking this way..

West Monroe looking strong....The Rebels got a big game this week with Acadiana High (Lafayette, LA)...Acadiana won 5A last year...

My Might Rummel Raiders(my old school) hanging tough and got a big game this week with Hahnville(2003 5A Champs)...The winner of this game will play the winner of West Monroe/Acadiana winner in the Quarterfinals.....Rummel gotta tough road.....Rummel got two great RB's both legit 4.4 kids...They just alittle undersized...One is 5'11" 190 and the other is 5'8" about 180...Both have the last name Johnson...The J-BOYS-they can scoot though...Wish us luck!

Game of the week in 5A will be Carencro (Lafayette, LA)
vs Destrehan (LA).... I believe truly one of these two teams be the 5A champs in Louisiana....Desty's QB just signed with LSU (like LSU need another QB)....He's pretty good though....6'4" 210 with a rifle and good speed...I dunno how many legit D-1 prospects will be playing in this game-a bunch!

4A-looking this way..

Bastrop looking strong.... Archbishop Shaw(Nawlins') been hit with the injury bug-lost the starting QB, LB and Safety for the season...Shaw hanging tough but playing with a freshman QB...Shaw won their playoff game though....Still like Shaw and Bastrop for the finals in the Dome....

3A-mainly for texasfroggie...Richwood lost to Iowa 50-40 last week in the first round of the playoffs...Richwood finished 6-5..Sorry froggie-Richwood not quite the power you wanted them to be..(lol)...

Lutcher, Redemptorist (Baton Rouge), Westlake, Notre Dame (Crowley, LA), Parkview Baptist, or Rayville have a great shot...

2A....

John Curtis won their first rounder 56-0....Evangel, St James and Calvary all won and either one of them could win 2A....Calvary beat Evangel two weeks ago 28-21....:eek:

I like St James and their Wing T, man, them guys are fast...I hope they win it...Them or Curtis-gotta keep it in the South...

1A-no clue...

Rummel and Katy are very similar from what I've seen this year...

Both love to run play-action if they have to, but would rather run the ball....Katy just alot better at it I think with the play action-smooth....

Katy gonna be hard to beat-that's from an outsider...

Rummel be hard to beat next year....This year been alittle surprising for us....We lost EVERYONE on defense last year...That's a load to replace....BUT, they been doing great...

Anyways, it's playoff time and anything can happen...

I hope WM wins and my Might Rummel Raiders win...AND, then Rummel takes out West Monroe....WM got this "Varsity Inc." thing they been filming on ESPN....Kinda like the Hoover Two-a-Days thing without the drama...Be sweet for Rummel to crash the party.....Them people alittle too cocky.....:D

Yeah, what was so amazing about it is Wilson(Bama QB) did not move an inch....Here you gotta guy coming at you with full speed from 30-35 yards right up the middle and you don't see him...Ouch!

Anyways, Darius Reynaud WR/Punt Returner(10 or 11 TD's this year) for West Virginia is also a Hahnville HS product....

Bastrop beat Shaw I believe. That QB(Randal Mackey) is the real deal. He makes plays when it seems the play is busted. Hasn't lost a high school game ever. Been starting since a freshman and hasn't lost a game, and probably won't.
