why is it that we always hear athletes thanking God for their success and never blame Him for when it doesn't go their way? not saying they should blame Him...i just find it interesting/funny/ironic. maybe the answer is right in front of my eyes and i don't see it, but insight would be appreciated.

They thank him for giving them the ability, not so much that God let them win... God blessed them with talent, and opportunities... If they have a bad game, then they have a bad game...But still thank God for the opportunity to be able to play.

Athletes ''thank god" for the opportunity to play, for the chance to play, not the fact that they are successful while they play. And plenty of athletes "blame" god when things don't go their way, do you think Trent Edwards isn't questioning why he keeps having major head injuries while playing the game he loves?

one teams gonna lose so i dont see why you would blame him. They thank for lots of reason ability to play as some as stated. Coming out safe, and having the opportunity to do what many wish and dream they could.

players should start pointing to the sky and thanking God for the chance to play and for their given abilities after they throw an interception or fumbling the football.

Correct way to to do it -- Tony Dungy - give God credit for the stage.

Incorrect way - -Isaac Bruce saying he was positive God wanted the Rams to win the Super Bowl against the Titans. I guess he changed his mind later and became a Pats fan.

No wonder Notre Dame is so religious. They have at least twice the interceptions and fumbles any other school does! :p

Sure there are you're safe, you still have the chance to do what many wish. Some of those kids have scholars ships while others are struggling to pay and will still owe money long after they graduate. Their are lots of reasons to thank regardless of wins or losses.

When a player prays they usually pray no one gets hurt, to have strength to win, and to do you (his) will. Not just for winning
