Everyone, I am here to eat my crow after a Bowie loss, and a convincing Allen win.

Allen is better than Bowie. And Bowie is NOT a top 10 team right now.

Please take your shots, but have mercy on my soul.

Good luck to all teams who are in the playoffs, and here is to a great offseason for those programs that are not in the dance (an to the other ones to join you over the next 6 weeks).

What happened to Bowie Vols? They were putting up big numbers the last couple of weeks.

It happens to all of us from time to time. The true measure of this Bowie team will be how they respond. Do they learn from the mistakes and become a better team for it? Or do they allow this loss to hold them down?

This is where player leadership becomes extremely important in addition to what Coach Perry and his staff preach every day. The players need to get themselves together sometimes.

4 turnovers, 1 blocked extra point, and Cyrus Gray's 160 yards. :)

Desoto played great.

For some programs like Carroll and Katy, you guys are used to going a season or more without a loss.

For us, 9 games without a long time. And many of us have taken this loss pretty hard. It sucks to lose. :)

But I don't think you can fully understand winning unless you have ever lost.

I hope that this is our stinker game. But I am a realist. Permian, Trinity, Marcus (yes they are better than many think) and Mans. Summit are all tough opponents in the d1 r1 bracket. Permian is my favorite right now. But I DO think we can hang with them or Trinity. But not if we played like we did Friday :)

Looking at the numbers, I would say that if you guys can clean up the turnovers then you will be fine. You can't turn the ball over 4 times and beat good teams. A one point loss with 4 turnover can be fixed.

What I think really sucks is the vols aren't district champs or y'all are sharing:cry

Get over it, most years the boys are turning in their pads:D
I am sure Bowie will have an nice playoff run:notworthy

No shots, I'll let you slide.:D Tough loss though by one point, not mutch to frown at with a 9-1 season.;) Good luck in the playoffs!:)

A one point loss is disappointing but is nothing to hang your head over. Tell the boys to keep their heads up. It's a new season come Friday. We're all 0-0.

I have the upmost respect for LD Bell, but I do not see them winning this game.

But, if Team USA beat the USSR in 1980, I figure anything is possible.

I do NOT chalk any game up as an automatic win. Although on paper, some would be tempted to.

Much love towards the Blue Raiders.

Exactly. Its a tale of two seasons. The post season is here. Sometimes a loss is not such a bad thing to get your feet back on the ground. Can't dwell on it. Learn from it and move on. It is single elimination from here on out. Bowie could put a string together.

Go Vols.

Wanna trade? :)

Bowie will be fine. DeSoto is one of those teams who, if they are "ON", can beat anyone in the state... Hopefully the Vols learn from this and have a great run. Take a snap in December and no one will remember November...

Wow...you were one person I was hoping to hear from this weekend. Thank you for handling this like a gentleman. :)

You never talked "trash" and Bowie has had (and still is having) a stellar season. Like everyone else said no reason to beat yourself up. One point losses to good teams happen to the best of us haha

First, I must congratulate Desoto on the win. I was raised that "excuses are for those that make them". I am not about to make any. "To the victor go the spoils" and that was Desoto on Friday night.

IMO, Bowie is still one of the best teams (Top 10 for sure)in Texas and will prove it during these playoffs.

Coming off their loss, I understand those who don't or may not agree. You are surely welcome to your opinion.

I have been watching this group of Bowie Seniors going back to their 7th grade season in Middle School. They have been winners at every level. Their confidence is not and will not be shaken by the loss. As a matter of fact, their resolve will only increase.

Three things about the playoffs are:

You get a fresh start

You can't hide for long

You can't beat a butt without bringing one yourself.

Good luck to all, respect yourself and the competition, and please everybody show class even if you don't have any!:)

No Crow here, because being humble is a big strength in my book!!

9-1 is a wicked bad  season and it is a shame that it does not get you guys an outright district title. My Allen Eagles were 9-1 last year and got within one win of playing for the state championship, so the sky is the limit for Bowie!

I hope both of our teams make it far enough to get that matchup. It would be a great game!

Thanks again for posting the thread. I will say a little prayer for your soul!!! :)

No crow to eat on either count, especially Bowie's loss. That game was played by 2 great teams. If DeSoto and Bowie played 10 times, it would probably end up 5-5. It' just a shame there can't be a rematch in the playoffs...

Good luck to the Vols. I wish them the best.

No crow here either. I learned a long time ago any team is capable of going down and sometimes by the most unlikely opponent. Your loss to DeSoto was no killer and you have nothing to ashamed of. The second season now starts.:)
