Thanks KT2000, this should be a great year...Judson missed the playoffs last year and kind of backed into this year...but I like our draw...this is my son's senior year, so it really is going to be fun...

You have Cy-Ridge and Elsik playing at Rhodes at 2:00 on Saturday. I beleive they are playing at the Berry Center. It shows Berry Center on several other sites. Falls and Mayde Creek play at Rhodes at 7:00 Saturday. Doesn't seem like enough time between games.

The newspapers have changed a few of the sites from this morning even. Guess I will have to keep refreshing until everyone settles on the actual places. :)

You will be pleased that I predict Katy to win the D2 bracket.

I have much love for Southlake Carroll, but I think Lufkin will get them this year. But alas --- Lufkin gets caught by Katy.

In D1, it took me a while to accept it, but here is what my mind thinks --- Permian will win the D1 bracket. Although my heart is with Arlington Bowie of course. Permian or Trinity will be the end of my beloved Bowie Vols in the Region 1 final.

Figure Region 2 knocks off Region 1 as they will be wore out from beating each other up (Permian, Trinity & Bowie). Whoever wins the Region probably loses the following week.

I think Permian and Trinity present more matchup issues for Allen or Plano than Bowie does.

I think the Region I winner will win the state title in Div 1. And that winner, IMHO, will be Permian.

But I hope I am wrong! Obviously, I want Bowie to win it, but if not Bowie, give me Trinity as another favorite. I would rather Trinity beat Permian, and if we lose, it be to Trinity rather than Permian. At least another DFW team :)

Blasphmer! Idolator! Mojo has risen from the grave to take its right place. I have watched this team since the 70's and I rank this year's team up there with the 72 and 89 teams. One stat that gets my attention is the turnover margin which should be at +20. At that level its not by accident and indicative of an outstanding defense. There is something that can't be measured by stats. The killer instinct that a team possess. Permian this year has it in spades to finish off an opponent. Permian is highly discplined and wants the state title badly. Woe to thee who stands in Mojo's way.:notworthy

I got North Shore getting knocked out by Pearland in the 2nd Round.

The most interesting section to me is Div 2 Region 1. SLC will play maybe the best collection of athletes they have every played during any of their prevous playoff runs. If they run the table, in my book they will be the best team in the state.

2nd Round vs Cedar Hill (if Cedar Hill can win in the first)
3rd Round vs Abilene (Abilene will be there)
4th Round Vs Desoto (If Desoto makes it here, they have enough athletes)
semi- vs Longview (maybe Lufkin or Klein Oak)

after those games Katy in the championship. Both Cedar Hill and Desoto have enough athletes to do some major damage.

After the first round everyone of those teams will give SLC a good game and if they limit their mistakes they could win...

I'm a long-time watcher of Mojo, too. 73's quote is right on. This Per. team will be hard to take down--they've got the Mojo mindset in spades--well coached, well-disciplined, well-conditioned, & they are very hungry for a st. champ.

For those who care the Aldine/Lamar game will be at Delmar and MacArthur/Madison will be at GPISD. Both games Sat. at 1 p.m. There has been some confusion about where these games will take place.

Aldine, Eisenhower, and MacArthur earn playoff berths

Aldine High, Eisenhower High and MacArthur High all qualified for the Class 5A playoffs and will open play the weekend of Nov. 16-17.

Darryl Phipps’ Eagles (7-3) won the District 19-5A title by going undefeated in league play and will ride a seven-game winning streak into their bi-district contest against Westside (5-5) on Saturday. The game will begin at 6 p.m. and will be played at Galena Park Stadium. Eisenhower will be part of the Class 5A Division I field.

Bob Jones’ Aldine Mustangs (4-6) earned a playoff spot by defeating Nimitz High, 38-14, to earn the league’s fourth and final playoff spot. Aldine, which will also be in the Division I field, will take on Lamar (9-1) on Saturday, at 1 p.m. at Delmar Stadium.

Jerry Drones’ Generals will represent the district in the Division II field and will take on Madison (6-4) on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Galena Park Stadium

my heart is with the panthers. mojo has fought so hard this year. but i will be honest, i have serious worries about Trinity. The Haka will not be push over. I'm keeping my fingers very crossed and continuing to hope our boys will continue to take it one week at a time and not be blinded by the hype of the "mojo madness" we (the fans) are getting to enjoy again.
most importantly, i hope all the boys (all over the state) make it through this injury free.
