I am not really sure what is going to happen here. I know Roosevelt has a good team, but their Defense isn't as good as the 3-2 score at the end of the 1st half suggested. That safety was credited to the D, but when the Offense starts inside the 5 after the first kick off of the game, its hard to get something going. Also, TR needs to work on its Goal line Offense.

I have not seen Mac play, but they kept the score vs SV close in the end, so I am going to go with them.

SV let Mac back into the game....SV practically manhandled them all game.

I'll go with Roosevelt.

They were up 28-7....that's manhandling if you ask me....any more would be murder. They scored two TDs in the last 2 minutes.

I don't think Roosevelt manhandles....but wins a close one.

Redskins, you keep posting that Mac scored 2 TD's in the last min. This is not correct. Mac score with 8:00 min to go and 1:58 to go. They also out gained SV 347 to 177 from the start of the 2nd quarter. SV never forced Mac to punt from the 2nd quarter on. Mac had drives of 40yds (TD), 87yds (int in endzone), 81yds (int at SV 2yd), 70yds (TD) and 52 yds (TD). Those were Mac's drives from the point of Schmid's injury. I'm not sure what Coach Fuschak told the kids but it raised their level of play.
Even Coach Hill said that these 3 games were like playoff games. I don't think he would say that if he's team had backed off.

I still think the kid getting life-flighted affected SV's defense. The helicopter buzzing around for thirty or so minutes after they re-started the game had to affect kids on the field. Not taking anything away from Mac, they are a quality team. But like someone said earlier, thinking you may have seriously hurt or maybe even killed someone had to be a distraction for seventeen or eighteen year old kids. Just before that gruesome hit, SV was firing on all cylinders. Mac could do nothing. Not a coincidence. SV just wanted to finish the game. Just my opinion.

Maybe but I doubt it. Mac could have done the same as you say SV did but they didn't and I don't believe SV did. If you paid attention to Hill, he wasn't backing off of his kids. He was doing a pretty good imatation of Mike Ditka on the sidelines.

Schmid was in the abulance for 20-25 min while the game was going on. Then the Air-lift arrived.

How is this young man doing?

Gridiron, it was like the Reagan game. Reagan dominated in the second half and Mac, as always hits a long bomb in the end but all it does is closes the gap in. And if the game was halted for 30 minutes that could've easily taken away SV's momentum and gave Mac quite a bit of time to make adjustments. I wasn't at the game but if they were leading 28-7 and then 28-14 for most of the game and then in the last minutes to close it into 7, that's not very close. SV was probably running it to run the clock out.

I believe in Stable condition....he should be fine. But I don't think he may be playing for a while. Unfortunately for him this will have quite an effect on him.

The last I heard he is doing just fine. The rumor mill is that he may be ready to play this week or next. Lets just thank God this was not as serious as it looked. It was a awesome, legal hit. But you hate to see any player put in a situation like that. It was a scary scene for those of us at the game. Not to mention what the parents of that kid were feeling.

If that were me, that would really affect me....even if I were physically ready to play. Cause if I ever tuck the ball and run or stand behind the OL they have....I'd be worried of getting hit like that again. If I were Fuschak, I'd set him down for a few weeks. And that's not cause I dislike Mac but because that's what I'd do as a coach.

Newscast this evening said he was doing fine and should be released. Glad his okay. I'm sure the doctors, family & coaches will make the right decision when he can play again.

Yes it sounds like he's going to be ok. Word is that he will probably sit one or two weeks and then he'll be ready to go. As far as how he'll handle future hits.....everyone is different.
As far as how Redskins would handle it......if it's anything like the way he talks about his team (one week their great, next week they suck) he'd probably change his mind 8 or 9 times before each game.
Schmid is strong mentally. He'll be fine. Redskins on the other hand........just read some of his post and you'll know what I mean. Redskins new nick name will be Cibil.

Man hoping the Schmidt kid from MacArthur makes a full recovery and finds his way back to the field soon. Now, to my point, Do we really have thread on two teams that are not going to make the playoffs?

Well, if it were up to me, I wouldn't have two quarterbacks....but if I were Fuschak, I would set him down for a few weeks. Make sure he's mentally ready. A hit like that can stay in your mind for a while.

last time i checked this was 5a texas football.. not 5a texas play offs.. i see nothing wrong with seeing who people think will win. just because they arn't going to the play offs doesn't mean that both the teams wont make it a good and close game..just my opinion...

He just likes talking about the top 2 teams...maybe he forgets that it's because of those teams he doesn't wanna talk about that give those teams the chance to get to the playoffs....
