Correct me if I'm wrong - but Klein went into a spread on that last first half drive!! Probably had our db's running around in disbelief. This team has been Wing T forever. Plus, Leonard dropped a for sure 90 yard td INT that would have made the first half score 21-7 --- we would have forgotten about the completion.

I've said it before -- Leonard is not yet a shut down corner. He gambles big time and plays the ball and qb more often than his man. He has 3 picks this year and he rarely gets thrown to. His natural instincts will be honed with technique moreso at the next level.

How is Leonard not a shutdown corner?? He led the state in int's last year and that was the first time i have ever seen him give up a pass for more then 10 yards. EVER!! SLC is pretty good at passing, in my opinion, however, they don't block well...they do a lot of pushing and extending their arms, i am surprised they aren't flagged more for that. I have never been a linemen, so I ask, are you allowed to shove a defender, I think that is a penalty...I could be wrong, but there is no mistaking what they do when they are allowed time to pass the ball, they shred you to nothings...great passing attack, Newton's kid is nice and he catches the ball as well, so they are explosive, but I go back to blocking, i am surprised they are not flagged for the way they extend their arms and block, that is a flag I am sure, yet they continue to use it and they are allowed to get away with it...

if he is inside the tackle box it does not matter. If that were the case every defensive lineman would run backwards so that it would be a penalty everytime. The tackle is just not allowing the defensive end turn the corner. You have not seen this type of pass protection before because from what I saw of longview they almost always use play action or quick drops

It is a fine line. If the blocker and the defensive player both start inside the box, then if the defender turns his back on the blocker you are allowed to block them in the back. I am not 100% certain of the rule, but that is what I understand.

OK now I understand what you are saying. I think that is also a fine line. Through my carroll green glasses I am seeing him push the d-end in the side or shoulder. You through your lobo green glasses are seeing a push in the back. I think most likely sometimes its the side sometimes in the back.

What your seeing is influence blocking at it's best by Carroll..the line shoves the rush to the outside & the QB simply steps up & picks his receiver..the linemen start learning the technique in the 7th grade...

....they beat some Milford team by 76 pts.

(The closest win they have, this year, is 27-12 over Lee! And plenty of people have posted (Yappi) Jason Williams is the toughest RB they've seen in almost 5 years!)

Colerain is a solid team.. Ohio has about 5 other solid teams... The rest of the State of Ohio is pretty much pathetic..

I'm sure my old buddy Concha would tell me I dont know what I'm talking about and that Colerain would be the #1 team in Texas and that the top #20 teams in Ohio can play with and beat the top 20 teams in Texas. :eek:
