For those who have website experince....
How do you go about copywriting a site or however it works?
How do you get more traffic other than family friends and random forum people:p
How do you get on board with search engines. Right now Google only finds TSC if you type it out as url but nothing else...
Also now that the site is good as far as the first stages go, heres what I'm hoping the redesign will look like for the front page at least

any insight anyone has would be great, thanks!

Falcon, the search engines pick up the title of the page. An easy way to fix that is to go into the web page code in whatever site editor you use. The title tags will be near the top of the code. On a new site, that is usually set to something generic like Default for a home page or Untitled. You can make that anything you want.
The title for our home page is 5A Texas Football, so if someone types those exact words or Texas Football our site will show up near the top of the search results.
You have to give the site a little time to catch on in the search engines. It takes time to pick up a new site and have it populate in all the engines.
As far as copyrights go, technically, your material is copyrighted when you publish it. I could write something on a napkin and that's technically copyrighted because that "idea" has been translated from my head to some kind of physical medium.
However, if you want to go a step further and incorporate your site as a business then you have to do a bunch of legal paperwork and figure out what kind of corp. is best for your purposes.

Thanks KT, I'm basically web-illiterate and trying to make a respecable site with no knowlege of what i'm doing at all haha.
Also I'm going to try and make the links page this week. Can I just link to whereever I want or should I ask permission first? Also do you mind if I add 5A to the links page?

I think it's best to ask permission, but if you are linking to the huge sites like yahoo or the ap news wire then I think it's safe to just put the link up.
Feel free to have a link to this site on there. Be sure and make the font REALLY BIG. ;)
Good luck!
