Wow – Tech is ranked 11/13 and is over Ohio State in both polls, who would have though this before the season. While it is early, there is a possibility that Tech could come through the season with only one loss (this would require them to beat OU in Lubbock, which I believe is a real possibility). Think of the bowl implications!

It's not just a possibility, it's a certainty. Stoops is playing Peterson Sat. in a game against Kansas which solidifies the long held thought that Stoops is not only and idiot, but that he is trying to kill his players (remember when he sent Jason White back into a game despite a blown out knee). This means, that once again, the dirt burglars will be lucky to have their star RB at 100% when the face Tech. Plus, did you see that Mobilhoma secondary? Tech could really embarass the land thieves.

Tech goes to the Cotton Bowl unless Colorado can limit itself to just two losses against UT. But they will be playing LSU or (eeeeeeek) Alabama...Tech fans might wanna get some go buffs signs out, and dont even give me a tired post about beating Cal, Cal just didnt care because they deserved a BCS bid which Utah stole...

No Utah deserved that Bowl... Pitt on the other hand stole Cal's BCS bid...

any top 15 BCS team over Utah any day of the week...

Pitt was a 3 loss team last year... Utah ran the table in Mountain West and nobody even came close to beating them... Ill take an Undefeated Utah over a 3 loss Pitt who barely won a terrible BCS conference...

pitt was also ranked 23rd when they played utah?
and utah allowed over 30 points to 4 of those crappy mountain west teams... not to mention had a game with BYU until some fake punts and breaks pulled it out

I am pretty sure it was Texas that stole Cals bid, because it was an AT LARGE bid.
Also who gives a crap if Cal "did not care." Its a bowl game, you better care. Oh well, Tech is ranked above Cal now, so all is well again.
GO TECH!!!! BEAT KSU!

you dont think texas was better than cal? good god... Utah had an AT LARGE spot too...one of which their schedule and talent was much less deserving of...

I said nothing about Cal being better than UT. All I stated was that UT stole Cals spot. UT was alot better than Cal, but CAL was ranked higher because its only loss was a last second loss to USC. Yeah utah did have the other spot, but the big deal was made that UT stole Cals. I remember clearly because all the UT fans wanted tech to beat cal so it would get cal off their backs. And I am glad they did because Cal would of crumbled against Mich.

Lets just say i hope Tech goes undefeated the rest of the way except for UT. Thats the only way i see UT getting into a BCS bowl, after Ohio States loss to Penn State. Hopefully gameday can show up next week in Austin (i dont know of what other big games are going on the week of tech, and i dont know the odds of Gameday coming down to Austin but if the two teams are undefeated still and i do think that Texas will thump CU and Tech will thumb Nebraksa, then they might wanna consider). That would help our chances alot as well (get vince and the horns on national tv again). I am assuming that Texas wins this game due to our strong secondary and we should Dominate in the trenches, getting Charles over 150 yards rushing and causing Cody Hodges a bunch of trouble because we are in the backfield. At least that is what should happen, but i guess that is why they play the game. UT is going to need alot of help getting into a national championship if they go undefeated and USC, and VA tech or FSU or even Alabama go undefeated. The big 12 is just borderline above the big east this year.

Uh....Va. Tech and FSU ARE NOT in the Big East....

^^I'm not about to reread my post lol, but i didnt mean to say that they were. I ment to say that if one of either VA or Florida State (ACC teams that would probably meet in the ACC championship this year since they have that starting this year if i'm not mistaken), or even Alabama, since they are undefeated and coming out of the SEC. And then i ment to say that the big 12 is just borderline better than the Big East this year, with Aggy so terrible and OU right at where Aggy usually is.

Yeah I mean V-Tech v FSU in the ACC Championship is pretty much a foregone conclusion...but once again if you take a look at the Harris pool UT is so far ahead of VT that its going to take a UT loss to not go to the Rose Bowl... at least for once we control our own destiny, not to mention when we play colorado again in the big XII ship they should be a low 20 rank...

I see 3 bowl scenarios for Tech.
They lose to UT and go to the Cotton Bowl.
They lose a close one to UT and sneak into the BCS.
They beat UT and end up in the Rose Bowl.
There's a good chance of the first one and there's somewhat of a chance for the other 2.

Tech will be in the Top 10 when they head to Austin. The #11 ranking is what counts for the BCS, not the #13.

If that player from Nebraska would have just went down like you were supposed to on a interception when it is in the final minutes of a game and you have a lead we would not even be discussing this. I cannot believe he tried to be a hero and run it back. He got the ball punched out and Tech recovered and won the game. I was glad to see Tech win but my lord were they fortunate!! I am sure Nebraska fans are still sick!!

NU had that coming to them after all the good times they've enjoyed over the years. I really think Nebraska will be tough to beat the rest of the year. They're on their way back to the top.

I know one of the usual Big-12 suspects is down this season (Oklahoma). But, the Big-12 isnt down at all. In fact... Miami & Florida St (which both are living off reputation) more then anything right now.
In fact.. Miami & Florida St would of both been beat by (UCLA) if they had to play them this season.
Head to Head:
Nebraska= 31 Wake Forest=3
Clemson = 25 Tx A&M=24 *both teams are about #7th in their Conf.
Miami = 23 Colorado = 3 * Miami is about #3 in ACC, Colo is #4/5
Nebraska is about #3th in the Big-12.
Colorado is about #4th/5th in the Big-12.
Nebraska should probably run the table.. they will finish about #18th for the Big-12 Title game against hopefully #2 Texas.
Florida St & Miami are living purely off past reputation right now. Who have they honestly played (besides each other)? I'll tell you.. nobody. Like I stated early. If they played UCLA they would both have an "L".
Texas -- Va Tech good game.
Tx Tech -- Fla St good game.
Nebraska -- Miami good game.
Colorado -- Boston College good game.
Yes, I honestly do think all those teams match up pretty evenly overall. So the top half of the (Big-12) is just as strong as the top half of the (ACC).
I think the lower half of the Big-12 is stronger then the lower half of the ACC.
I mean Louisville (Big East) just beat North Carolina (ACC) something like 61-14. Does anyone think Louisville would beat Iowa St, Baylor or Kansas like that ?? I say no.....
Oklahoma is having a rebuilding year. But, who have they lost to.. TCU #1 in the Mountain West, UCLA who is in the running for the PAC-10 Title plus Texas.
Again.. if Florida St or Miami would of played UCLA they would have an "L" also. UCLA is better then them. FLA St and Miami are living on past reputation right now more then anything. That's why their #10.
In fact from top to bottom. I honestly think the Big-12 is slightly better then the ACC.
PS. Iowa St beating Iowa (Big-10) wasnt a fluke. Another game showing that some of the mid-level Big-12 teams are pretty solid. :D

I agree.. hopefully when Texas meets Nebraska in the Big-12 Title (my prediction for the game). It will match #2 Texas vs #17-#18 Nebraska.
*That's how I see it shaking out.

Yeah you are right they had their share of very fortunate events in their games in the past. Do you remember the Missouri/Nebraska finish several years ago when Nebraska went on to win the NC?? Talk about lucky!!
