i'm really sorry that we have the absolute worst fans in this state....these people will not get off of their dead a$$es to cheer, boo, do anything!! it's ridiculous...and the majority are season-ticket holders! please, give up yall's seats so some REAL fans can come and support our team---not sit on the lazy, tired butts the entire game....i'm through venting now...sincerely, Bleedgreen......:Censor: you fair-weather fans.....

Lufkin has had some fair weather fans this year - believe it or not - the exits were jammed in Week 0 with 2 minutes left when LP TRAILED Longview.

We have a lot of old fans, I mean, like barely made it to their seats without assistance fans - great to see the loyalty, but they don't make alot of noise.

I'm sure you're referring to your home side fans, because I've seen firsthand how loud some of your fans can be on the visitor's side.:) I guess the fans that have to sit on the side of the opposing team and still cheer so loudly would have to be true.

It's been that way for years and it isn't going to change. It's pathetic, I agree.

That's why I love road games. You either get up and go crazy, or you get to sit and not watch any of the game (because of the people infront of you, sure as hell will be standing and cheering).

I get my season ticket from my stepfather who was on school board and has season ticket for life. I've traveled over 150 miles and missed 2 games. Most people around me are elderly or football morons (i.e. lady behind me last week asked if game can end in tie?). Others don't even attend (4-5 seats on both sides of me have been empty for every game I've attended). The traveling Lobo fan is definitely more vocal than the average home fan.

i totally agree with you and Lobo07....i, too, have witnessed this for a very long time, and i guess yesterday it was too much to hold in any longer....we were down 14-3 to Mesquite---they were sitting on their lazy butts....we scored, still down 14-9---still sitting on their butts...go up 16-14--still sitting on their dead a$$es, pretty much ice the game with the winning TD, go up 22-14---still sitting on their flat butts!!...i said to myself, "what the hell does it take to get these people up out of their seats?"..the football team was trying to get everyone to stand and yell, but yet, these people still will not move!! i would bet that if there was a bomb scare or an F5 tornado, these :Censor: fair-weather fans would not even make an attempt to get out of their seats.....it's ridiculous!! i'm sick of it........

I feel your pain! We have some Permian fans who don't even leave fingerprints anymore, they are so old. While I respect them deeply for staying with the Black and White for obviously a couple of centuries, I am so tired of them threatening to have us removed from home games because we stand a LOT.

At our game against Midland Lee, she hobbles down to our seats - 4 rows lower than where she sits and starts poking and yelling at my husband. We offered to switch with them so they could see and she said NO! So this puts him in an awkward position. He's extremely polite to elderly and handicapped people - we were just brought up that way. So what do you do when you have a 75-80 year old little lady poking you in the arm and yelling at you to sit down?? Then when the usherette tells him he can be removed - for standing and yelling at a FOOTBALL game - pretty much sent him over the edge. hahaha... The older our fans get - the more Ratliff officials need to look at putting certain fans in certain areas.

Anyway - so that's why I LOVE road games. We sit where we want and if they don't like it, they can move higher or lower. We sat only during timeouts at the Abilene High game and in good close games, that's what we are going to do.

we've had that problem in tyler lee FOR YEARS NOW......its like the fans especially season ticket holders go to the game to socialize and talk about the other people at the game.........especially the women at the game...........its very frustrating from a fans standpoint that yells and cheers and noone else seems to want to do the same! those fans are everywhere!

Bleed, I am going to have to find you at the games now. I go alone now, my wife hasn't been wanting to go lately. I understand your pain. When the players are trying to hype everyone up, I stand up and look around there might be 10 people at the most standing. I won't make the Mesquite Horn game, I will be just getting back in town. But come playoff time, I will be looking for you. Word on the street is the first game is in Tyler Rose on Thursday Nov 14 at 7:30pm.

I was at a playoff game two years ago in Waco and was asked to sit down on a third & short play. I politely said "NO", and continued standing until the play was over, then stood again for the punt return. I stand a lot at the games, it's how I roll when supporting Lp. I stand and get loud, and wont apologize for it.

I sit or get out of the way when the band is on the field so not to block anyone's view of that, but that's it.

Amen to all of that. This is one big reason I sit on the visitors' side even at our home games now. Maybe the new handicapped seating will actually be used at Ratliff by people that act like that. Football games are supposed to be exciting, doggone it!

This is a little off topic, but does anyone else get totally fried when the cheerleaders pick a crucial third down play in the 4th quarter of a 21-20 game to start throwing their plastic footballs into the crowd? Jeez! And the worst part is that this is the ONLY THING that gets some of those people excited. 104 yard kickoff return? Stay seated and complain about everyone making noise around you. But toss a 20 cent plastic football with Bobs Tire Barn printed on the side into the stands and they scream and wave their arms and jump up and down and fight for it like hundred dollar bills are being dropped from a helicopter... AHHHHGGGGHHHH!

Sometimes when your team dominates on a regular basis it can get boring. I'm a die-hard Westfield fan but the cheering is anemic at times. It's like the opposing team put crazy glue on the stadium seats!!!

Preach ON!!! Those dern footballs and t-shirt canons!! Our flag crew and cheerleaders are pretty good though about paying attention to what is going on on the field and don't interupt a play very often.

In front of me is a family (the dad might have gone to LHS) but his kids are too young to be students. And then there's the grandparents and the mom and the new baby. Too many diversions to pay any attention to the game. They all left early during the John Curtis game because baby getting too much sun! LEAVE THE MOM AND BABY AT HOME. I'm at F-18-8 and like I said usually empty sits on both sides of me, so people in rows 17 and 19 use my row to access the aisle during the game. Any real fans are welcome to come on over and fill the void and create a roadblock.
