Westfield played the best all around game of the year and completely dominated all aspects of this one...... Without thier star running back Bo Walker!!!!
Westfield is probably playing the best football in the state right now, along with Trinity!!!
Keep it up Mustangs!!

I agree, this game is probably the best defense I've seen WF play in the past four seasons.

powerful running game against an average D.. idkw if they are a deep playoff contender I would not put them up there with trinity.

Great game WF - totally domination of a good KO team!

KO is very overrated there Defense is not very good at all. Westfield is the real deal in my opinion better than katy

I agree. Even without Bo, WF rolled Oak. Jorius Day and D. Ford played especially well. Sampson had two picks. T-Rob got what 7 yards. D Hales carried most of the load for Oak. Wf played like they knew every play Oak had. A complete game by WF. If they continue to play like that, no team beats them.

I just checked. I don't think T-Rob or Hales had positive yards on the ground. 22 did. Can someone confirm?

Westfield's D put the clamps on a good ground game tonight. hales could not find much running room. It did look tome as if KO had a couple lineman playing out of position.

I certainly respect your opinion and would like to hear more. I think Westfield is one of the top two teams in D1 right now along with Trinity. I think the winner of that game wins state. With that said:
45-0
41-17

Will the real T-rob and Hales please stand up?
What did I say?? When Oak looks for the run, Westfield will light them up with the passing attack. When they drop back for coverage, Westfield pounds the run and busts open for 10-15yd gains. Westfield knew Oak's gameplan; Give it to Hales and Robinson. Mission accomplished Westfield. Defense was dominant and they made a stand at the goaline. This game should have been 45-0 had it not been for the lackluster officiating. Yes, 3 facemasks in a row which I though was an attempt by the refs to get Oak back into the game. Offsides?? I guess they didn't show the right guard who ran a false start prior to the snap.
Klein Oak's offense didn't hurt them. Westfield did.
Next up: Spring!!!!!!

No one did. Besides, I can't speak for any other team, but we(Trinity) still have a HUGE regular season contest left on our plate, and that's all that matters right now.

Wow, that score is unbelievable. Any chance KO didn't go with all guns blazing since they've already wrapped up the top seed in the D2 playoffs?

Not a chance. They had state ranking and district championship at stake and Smith's ego won't let him play that angle. They have played 2 teams with speed, the rest of schedule was very soft. All about limiting damage Hales does. They will advance as far as the match-ups let them. O-line and defense are average.

Agreed. No way Smith's arrogance would allow that. His (or his assistant coaches') offense is designed to put Robinson and Hales in space with a defender and force said defender to make an open field tackle. Against the Springs and Tomballs of the world, it's a mismatch.
Athletic defenses (Klein Forest & Westfield) that pursue the football will give them trouble because they have no plan to fall back on. They are very average in the passing game and you hope that they put #4 in at QB and let them attempt to throw it around.
Wish I could have been there to see Coach Sweatervest take one on the chin. I'm sure he was tons of help when they were attempting to make adjustments at half.

Westfield's D was swarming all night, keeping Hales in check and coming up big in the red zone. That goalline stand was impressive.

I don't know i thought Westfield O line was much better with a stud TE but Katy did have a better RB... I think Westfield recievers are much better than Katy's. There is athletic and swarm. Don't know much about Katy's D, but in my opinion I think Westfield can beat anyone in the state the way they are playing

Good stuff! I gave a lot of credit to Klein's D Line making Katy's look bad in that opening game. Katy's O line still hasn't completely got it all the way together after week 9. Katy's passing game is just now starting to stand out. The recievers are making circus catches every game. Not sure about WF's recievers, but I didn't think WF passed all that much. Katy's D is solid. Give up some yards but not a lot of points. Typical bend don't break Katy defense.

Much improved at this point. Not to mention, I don't think BO had a lot of time to throw against the Klein D. Different passing game all together at this point.

All season I would have given the edge to Katy, But this WF team is the best I have seen from them in the Meeks era. They always had a great D and a running attack, but now that they have a true passing attack, This team is gonna be hard to beat. The teams they beat in district KF, Klein and KO are no push overs.
