I get home from work tonight and Mrs Slorch asks me if I had the yard mowed and the flowerbeds/ tree beds re-mulched. I'm like, " Hell no, that costs money."
She then tells me that she didn't either, but the yard looks awesome!

We don't even know who did it, but the yard is mowed and edged with new mulch in all of the beds, and it's the dark purdy stuff too.

i couldn't help but think somebody else got home and asked, " when are the :Censor: yard guys going to show up?":D:mad:

If this works the same way as the homeless windshield cleaners in Houston, you are legally obligated to pay for this service.

At least according to my law prof who is an attorney. Because you didn't tell them NOT to do the service.

Personally, I'd tell them thanks for the free landscaping, LOL!

someone sends me a bill, they're crazy.

big difference, your vehicle is on public roadway.

My house is my private property. they didn't damage my trees or anything, so I probably won't file a trespassing claim...:D:cool:

Your law professor needs a new profession. You didn't order it, therefore you are not obligated to pay.

Using your law professor's approach, you could spend all your time, effort and money fixing other people's errors. Obviously, that's not the law.

if they try to make you pay you counter sue on the grounds that they totally destroyed the look you were going for, the wild, untouched, back to nature look and they came along and made it look all nice and neat!

Pay it forward??

I definitely have that approach.

Every :Censor: that has ever cut me off in traffic, taken the last tray at Luby's, or dinged my car door fuels my behavior towards society...:D

No, seriously, I have a tremendously blessed life. It wasn't an area of need for us, as I change out the mulch each spring and the lawn had been mowed a week earlier. i still just think the guys totally did the wrong yard without intending malice or benevolence.

now the rest of the block is jealous...:D
